Another snowstorm

It came like a thief in the night starting after supper on Christmas day. We awoke this morning landlocked in our home. There would be no Boxing day shopping today. Piles of snow covered everything including the snow blower. Gradually as neighbors began to rise and survey the damage, the shovels and snow blowers came out. One guy used his quad with and attached snow shovel. Christmas at my in laws scheduled for boxing day had to be cancelled. After dumping over 30 centimeters, the snow has gone but the wind is still strong. It will be a couple days before the streets are cleared and we can get back to normal.

We haven't had heavy snow for ages.Apart from our milder climate, globe warming is the main reason.

I blame global warming or all the extremes. We had an unusually warm fall and now 2 snowstorms within a few weeks.

Yes it seems sometimes that our lives are run by the weather here. Cold weather and snow routinely closes schools, stops the school bus from running and close down highways.

@Freelanzer I learnt this early on on myLot. Roads rarely get closed because of weather here. The most common natural cause would be flooding.

Glad the typhoon missed you hope the rest of the country is ok. The storm herre is gone now, we are just in the process of digging out.

That wind can be brutal. Hope you have plenty inside to take care of yourselves.

@Freelanzer I hope it is light, fluffy snow so no one strains themselves. I remember shoveling heavy, wet, snow and how hard it was.

Is there ice on the sidewalks and streets too? That is very very hard to walk with it. That sure did not sound like fun to wake up to all that snow unless you like it.
