An ordinary day today, with no bank holiday or festive designation status to it despite being sandwiched between Xmas and New Year. The weather was glorious, warm and sunny in a way that suggested early Spring rather than bleak mid-Winter. I got some basic shopping in, my first food shop since before Christmas and waited in the rest of the afternoon as a friend was popping over from Manchester. The reason for her visit was that another friend has given me a spare computer hard drive, albeit for a Linux computer, though I knew it will need a screen and keyboard before I can operate it. A mutual friend to both of us collected it from him and brought it over to me in Preston this afternoon, and I am very grateful of both of them. It proved to be a lovely visit on a lovely day.
