This year all of my decorations were in place well before Christmas. We enjoyed the pretty colours and the sparkling lights. Since Tuesday my four year old granddaughter has been my companion. My partner in crime. Her mommy had taken their tree down on Tuesday night and Sandra was quite put out that she had not been able to help. Grandma had a solution. Sandra, you can help me with our tree. An hour later all of the ornaments had been lovingly packed. The lights rebooted and the tree (should I say trees) all repacked into boxes. Sandra had the privilege of sitting on the box while I taped it closed. When grandpa go home from work she informed him that she had fallen off of themChristmas tree. The next day we took all of the garland out of the windows and packed that away. The house is looking very bare. The last decoration we packed away was the button tree that Sandra helped create when's spent a few sick days here in November. All that remains are my snowmen and nativity scene. They usually stay in place until mid January when the Valentines hearts are put on display.

The tree is down, the Nativity Scene will stay until the 6th of January (Epiphany - Three Kings Day), I am waiting to put the 3 Kings there the morning of the 6th, let them stand there at least one day.

That is great that you had a little helper to get things done. Sounds like she enjoyed every minute of it too.

I'm sure you are relieved the job is done. At least you had a cute little helper to help with that task.

And a good helper she was. Things have packed more thoroughly and compactly than ever before.

I leave my snow men out too. I take it all down on January 7th. But I didn't put much up.

I never remove the tree or any of the decorations until 6th January though this year I am slready fed up with them. Once the tree goes back into its box the days seem to get longer too and I can't wait for that to happen!

That was good that you had a little helper. I didn't put my decorations up until 2 days before Christmas so haven't taken them down yet. I'll take them down tomorrow.

We take ours down on the 1st day of the new year. I am kind of ready to get it done this year because my tree is way smaller than normal. I was a little disappointed with it.

It's nice to have an eager helper take down all the decorations. Mine are still up and maybe I should invite a grandchild over and ask for assistance?

I will be on vacation until January 4th, so I probably won't be able to start taking down my Christmas decorations until January 7th or 8th.

Our decorations will come down after the 7th. I would like to take them down now, but my husband likes to keep them up until after the epiphany.

Ours will stay until the first week in January to usher in the New Year. Then it is backing up until next year. Valentines are not that big as a celebration to decorate.

Its nice to have the decorations up, but such a cleansing feeling after putting them away. You're lucky that you had a little helper.
