So What Did You Do to Welcome in the New Year?

Did you stay home, have a nice dinner, and watch the ball drop?
Were you with loved ones?
Were you alone?
Did you go out for dinner with just one or several dear friends?
Did you have a party?
Did you go to a party?
Did you see fireworks in your neighborhood?
Did you go to bed early?
Whatever you did to usher in 2017, I want to wish you all a very healthy, happy, sweet, loving, and prosperous New Year!

I think I might have been asleep at midnight, not really sure, my neighbors were kind enough to blast some super loud fireworks right over my home so that I almost leapt out of bed. Then I had to console mom's kitties for a while.
Well, at least I have a goal for this year, I need to find a way to create a kitty cave.

I was up drinking champers, watching fireworks from my window, listening to "auld lang syne", then at the stroke of midnight, I sent the modified verses to 3 of my best friends who are dotted across the world and wished them a happy 2017.

@DianneN thank you! it's a very Brit thing to do for new year's eve.
Usually, there'd be coffee with chocolate too, but I've already eaten so much chocolate now, I've decided not to indulge.
Last new year's eve I went to a party, and it was full of people I hardly know, and most of them very very drunk.. so I got bored very quickly. The same host invited me back this year, I've decided not to repeat the same experience again this time

My son had a couple of friends come over and we all played poker for a few hours. It was fun. My hubby spent most of the evening in the barn building a new shelf for his tools. The old one was busted. I did go to bed before the ball dropped. I really have seen enough New Years lol, so no big deal.

I sat on the couch with my boyfriend and my parents in their chairs and we watched the Chrisley Knows Best marathon until 11:58. After 12:00 my dad, boyfriend, and I all went to bed & my mom stayed up a little bit later.

@DianneN No, we watched it drop and then we went to bed. I have never seen New Years as a big deal for me it is just another day. Nothing changes between that minute.

Wow that's a lot of questions..lol we stayed home. My fiance went to bed really early so I was alone most of the evening. He isn't feeling well today either so I think he may be coming down with the flu. It is going around. I couldn't see the fireworks in town but I heard them going off at midnight. So how was your New Year's Eve celebrations?

Lol! I'm such a busybody! I hope your fiancé feels better and that you don't catch it! Did you get the flu shot this year? I caught my hubby's cold, but other than a dripping nose, I feel fine. Going through lots of tissues, though. Our New Years lasted over 7 hours and was a lot of fun.

@DianneN No i didn't get the flu shot but I never do. I am keeping my distance hoping I don't get it lol. With my luck I will get it just in time to go back to work. Glad you don't feel too bad with that cold. Colds can be pretty miserable but it is hard to avoid getting this time of year. Glad to hear that you had a lot of fun welcoming in the new year.

Happy New Year again and again!!!
We didn't do much during the day except to clean up the house
. Later on in the afternoon we went to my mother in law's house for a bit - not to celebrate but she had forgotten our Christmas gifts when we went out on Christmas Eve
. At night we came home and I made a noodle soup for dinner which is traditional for the Japanese to let go of the bad stuff from that year before the new year rolls in. We were all tired and actually slept before midnight
. . . but we knew the next day we would be going to my parents' house to celebrate New Year's Day with a Japanese feast.

@DianneN Wellll . . . not to sound ungrateful, but mother in law is awful at getting gifts (her own daughter even refused to take home the Christmas gift she got her
). I kinda wish she had forgotten
. The Japanese feast was delicious and it's always nice to be in a relaxing atmosphere at my parents. The kids actually go back to school next Monday . . . these days kids get 3 weeks off for winter break . . . so it's a few more days before we go back into routine again. Hoping you have a fabulous 2017 as well!!

Cleaning the house is a necessity. I'm sure you and your family were happy to receive your Christmas gifts. She must have felt awful forgetting them on Christmas Eve. I know I would have. I have heard of your traditional noodle soup and hope you have only good in your life in 2017. Im certain your Japanese feast was delicious, especially celebrating the New Year with your parents. You certainly were busy! I'm sure the kids are back in school after a wonderful holiday. Once again, a very Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year to you and your wonderful family!

@DianneN Yeah it is it's a bar that my man plays at in the summer months because they can play outside on the deck it is to small to play inside. Yeah I would say you would need a nap after getting up that early.
