Sickening

Let me begin by saying I was not an angel when I was a kid. I skipped school. I goofed off. The things I did in 9th grade civics class would make your hair curl (even those of you who don't have any hair! ). Having said that, I never destroyed anyone's property. In fact, I'm almost paranoid when I have someone else's belongings. I don't want to be responsible for damaging something that belongs to someone else. Last night one of the courses on our putting tour was vandalized. About $7,500 worth of decorative animals were knocked over, and some of the lights for the courses were broken out. Now, you have to understand something. This place isn't located next to a bar. In fact, the only things close to it are a pediatrician's office and a church. (And wouldn't you hate to think somebody decided to jump the fence after prayer service and trash a ceramic giraffe?) It's sickening. The people who own this course are not only angelic to us when we play there, but they're upstanding people in the town. I've checked in to my hotel before a tournament and mentioned their names and the desk clerk's face will light up. "Oh, yeah, I know them. They're great people." You can use the Biblical approach ("be sure your sins will find you out;" "whatever a person sows that is what they will reap"), or you can call it "karma" or "paybacks." I hope whoever did it cannot sleep, eat, or rest until he/she confesses and makes restitution. Here's the story from the local newspaper:
The owners of Columbus' Putt Putt Golf Course are cleaning up after vandals extensively damaged the facility. Two of the golf courses' miniature animals, a zebra and a giraffe, were overturned and broken and the vandals broke out about a dozen fluorescent

I can not understand why people want to do things like that. How sad.

I don't get it either but this is an aspect of human behavior that causes me to fill up with sarcasm and say "I luv ppl" and shake my head. I'm pretty sure there is some kind of stinkin' thinkin' going on with these vandals, such as "These people have insurance and that will pay for it" (if they think at all). Or maybe it's a sort of Clockwork Orange thing where they're just out to get their kicks, and to H with everybody and everything else. In any case, I hope they are caught and reap whatever consequences will make them change their ways.

This is very, very sad. It would be nice to think they will get their just desserts in the end.

This is sickening. I don't know why it is that these type of people seem to reach out to the really nice people. They want to destroy their things for some reason. It is very sad. I hope they can find out who did it.
