Let It Snow!

Good morning everyone! We are currently anticipating some snow today. There is a front that will be coming through within the next hour or two and then another front will come through this afternoon. I am so excited and can't wait. I don't think we will get more than a couple of inches which is okay with me as long as we get some snow that will stick to the ground. If we do get snow, I will post pictures tomorrow. Yesterday, I went and had an epidural done on my lower back. We are hoping that it will keep my feet from hurting since I do have a small disc herniation that is pressing on a nerve. Everything went smoothly. I live in Louisville and the Pain Management clinic offered transportation so I could go to Indiana to have it done. We were at the surgical center in Indiana by 7:30 pm and everything ran like a well oiled assembly line. I chose to have sedation because I was so nervous and didn't know if I could stand to have someone stick a needle in my back. I know, I'm a wuss but I would do it again. There were two other people who also used the transportation so after everyone was done, we were out of there and I was home by 10am. We were told that our pain could increase over the next 72 hours from the injection but after that, our pain should be better. So far, I haven't suffered any additional pain and it does seem that my feet are feeling slightly better already. I hope it isn't a fluke and that it continues to get better every day. Off I go to check on my notifications, comments and visit as I wait for the snow to hit us. Are you getting any snowfall where you are?

I'm glad your epidural went so well. My two friends feel so much better after having their treatments. Not a drop of snow here in FL, but 6" at home.

I wish I could say that I feel better. I did feel good for a few days but now the pain is back. I go back to the doctor on 1/30 and I am hoping the will schedule another one. I heard that they do them in a weekly sequence of 3-4 weeks.

@simone10 It must be awful for you to have to wait so long for relief. I hope you have meds that will help you out until the 30th.

I was fine after the injections. I did have a few days of a little added pain but now I feel better. The epidural isn't like when you have a baby. They inject medication in your back.

It would be wonderful if this solved the issue for you. Will be looking for your articles about how this worked.

It worked for a few days but it's not working now. But, they are supposed to be given in a weekly sequence of 3-4 so I am hoping they will schedule another one after my appointment.

We had quite a bit of it and it lasted a week , the temps rose and the snow melted. I know it won't be long before we get more. Glad you are doing something to calm your pain. I really hope it is successful for you... lets us know as time goes on.

We got a little bit of snow and it was gone within a few days. I am so ready for spring now because I have gotten to the point where I just can't tolerate the cold anymore.

That is a beautiful picture. We recently had ice and rain with a few flakes of snow. It was a big let down. I hope the procedure worked for you.

Boy am I glad we're not getting any, it was enough that we got our in the 2015 christmas season. Hopefully our region will do as it usually does when ever there is snow fall, the next few years will be warmer. We have been getting unusual rainfall though, nothing horrendous just odd that we're getting rain this time of year and not just on one day, we've been getting some rain nearly every other day since before Christmas. I'm not complaining.

I don't understand the epidural in that case. Isn't for paralysing the lower part of the body for a surgery?

I thought the same thing but what they actually did was inject medication into my back.

I've only heard of an epidural being used in childbirth - I hope it does you some good. (Do you mean 7.30am, not pm?)

I know, that is what I thought too. They actually injected medication into my lower back. It worked for a few days but now I'm hurting again. I go back to the doctor on the 30th so hopefully they will schedule another one and it will work better. Yes, am not pm.

I am hoping so hard that this will help ease the pain in your feet. And I would have asked for sedation too. Take care.

Thanks but unfortunately it only worked for a few days. I found out that the epidurals are supposed to be in a sequence of 3-4 so I am hoping when I go back, they will schedule the next one.

Being that I live in Florida, snow is nothing more than a pipe dream for us! haha But I hope you enjoy whatever amount of snow you get! And enjoy it for me as well! I'm glad everything went well with your epidural, and I hope you enjoy some much-needed and welcome pain relief!

I'm jealous. Mother nature must have something against us to keep snow from our doorstep here. I saw the weather picture for parts of the US this morning when I checked on the weather here, and saw places that don't normally get snow, are getting it. Enjoy your snow. I'm glad the surgery worked on your back and your feet are starting to feel better.

Sounds like you're in for some pain relief! I'm so happy for you! As for snow, we're due to get some in the morning, but not more than a couple of inches.
