8 Years Old And I Wont Give Them Up Yet

I have two pairs of jeans that are my favorite jeans, because they fit me around the waist perfectly the way I like, but they are a little aged. I bought them 8 years ago and even though they are getting ragged in certain places, (I just stitched a tear in one yesterday), I will wear them both until they literally fall apart. That is how I am. If I really like a piece of clothing because they fit well and still look good, I will wear them for as long as I can. That doesn't mean that I wont buy new clothes. I have bought new skirts, shirts etc. in the past 8 years. Some people may call me cheap but others may call me thrifty. How about you? Will you wear a pair of clothes until they fall apart?

I am the same way. Its a sad day when after many many years if wearing a great fitting comfortable pair of pants I have to throw them away!

I agree, it is a sad day when it has to be thrown away.

Yes, I have other sizes in the closet , some too small that I would love to be able to wear again, hopefully.

@AbbyGreenhill I am thinking that too. I tried on a skirt the other day, that use to not be that tight around the waist and now it is.

Hey you are talking to the person who still has clothes from her days living in NYC and I moved to Riga, Latvia in 1994. In fact I still have an old trunk with my christening dress and shoes so that might make for an interesting post at one point because I can take a photo. Anyway I also have a closet full of dresses and tops I always hope to lose wight and wear again. I know they won't ever fit me again but it is a nice dream. Just went threw a pair of summer shoes this summer that wound up with a hole in the sole but boy were they great shoes for a number of summers. My philosophy goes very much with this song

That is a good song to compare it to. Yes, I also had a pair of shoes in the past that I wore so much, I even took them to a shoe repair store and had the heals replaced. Then wore them until they really fell apart.

I wouldn't but only because I don't know how to stitch pants. I find nothing cheap about someone taking care of his belongings.

I've had shirts and jeans like that. My wife will finally through them out when she's decided they are too worn.

I have some jeans that I love more than others. One is too big but I still wear them in the house.

oh yes, I'm like that, too! I have two tshirts that I really do love. They have little holes in them (mostly from my cat grabbing me) so I mostly wear them around the house. But I just can't bring myself to dump them yet. And one is from 1996 on a trip to Texas! Old and worn but still loved!

I am the same way. I have a pair of pjs that I got when I was in middle school and that was 9 years ago. I still wear them. They are my favorite. They are still to long for me.

Same here. They call me thrifty. I only buy things if they aren't usable anymore.
