"Christmas in Dixie, it's snowing in the South..."

Well, we didn't have snow at Christmas, but we're getting it now! (I love those Christmas songs by Alabama
)
Woke up to ice hanging from the trees, now it's snowing. We've had more snow before, but then, it isn't over yet.
At the first mention of a winter storm, all the grocery stores were quickly out of bread, milk and eggs. I know people in the north barely give it a thought.
We joke that at the first snowflake, the whole area totally shuts down...schools, businesses, and government offices.
Got a pot of vegetable soup on the stove with a ham bone from Christmas and of course, strong, sweet ice tea. Our grandson is here with us...he just came in from riding the four-wheel Honda around the farm.
Maybe I'll make a yellow layer cake with chocolate fudge/pecan frosting for dessert.
Is it snowing where you are?

@1creekgirl Not only a lot of snow now but accompanied by a severe winter cold wind. Usually we get a lot of snow, but sometimes we have got mild winter climate but it isn't natural for our country and region.

It snowed this morning, not much and it's gone now, but very cold. Where in the south are you?

We're in eastern NC. I think (hope) it has stopped snowing, but there's ice underneath.

Me and my family are from the Chicago area. I remember one time my brother was in Alabama, he now lives there, and it had snowed. He had to get home to Chicago so he was on the roads. He told me there was less than an inch of snow on the ground. He got pulled over by a cop and the cop told him the roads were closed what was he doing out there. My brother told him he had to get home, the cop asked him where home was, my brother told him Chicago and the cop told him to have a good day lol. Love that story.

That's funny. Folks in the north are more used to snow.

It is suppose to start sometime this evening here. Nice picture of your grandson. He is enjoying the snow. We have a pot of turkey soup on the stove from leftover turkey. It is going to be good and perfect for the stormy weather we will be getting.
The cake sounds delicious.

Your soup sounds good too, our ham vegetable soup was yummy, but had to settle for walnut brownies. Didn't have a cake mix and I don't do well with cakes from scratch.
Don't tell Anna lady duck.

I know, it doesn't appear we'll get too much snow, but the ice makes it hazardous to drive.

It is snowing where I live but I live in Canada. You made me hungry with yourvegetable soup and fudge pecan frosting....
. We witnessed what you southerners do when it snows a couple of years ago when we were in Myrtle beach - a stop on our way to Florida. There was an ice storm and the whole town closed for 4 days..We never knew until we were there that you in the south just stop and wait for it to melt.. Fortunately we stopped at a store when we heard it was coming. We had rented a condo for a week...a boring 4 days... and three days visiting in the cold...

Yeah, we pretty much just stock up and stay in. You guys are more able to deal with snow and ice.

no, unfortunately, our country has no snow at all, but it has the strongest typhoon, which we all dread.
