Memento Vivere

You might be asking what my heading means . . . memento vivere is the Latin term for "remember that you must live" I had a chance to peruse through a few of the beautiful postcards that @MALUSE sent me last year and the one that caught my eye yesterday was a beautiful picture photograph posted in the July of 1960 from a friend to a friend of the stunning "Alsterarkaden" columns looking out at the "Hamburg Rathaus". "Rathaus" the city hall or town hall of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. More of the Alsterarkaden is that of the original buildings there are still four houses with old lanterns, iron railings, gilded fish and tridents between the arches. Just stroll under the arcades and enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere and exclusive shops alongside the waterways. A Photographers paradise if you ask me. “A good snapshot keeps a moment from running away.” ~ Eudora Welty Hamburg in Germany is on my list of "To See places before I get old" note that I have not said "to see places before I die" because that is just such a morbid statement. However if I dont get to see Hamburg in my living years, luckily this beautiful picture was shared with me by a very thoughtful person. I am loving the meandering through the old postcards, almost like a magical treasure chest of travels from one seat. My motivation this year is 'memento vivere' . . . remember to live!
