As I mentioned awhile back, hubby and I were having some difficulties... differences of opinion I guess. I suggested that a tropical getaway was in order and he agreed. I wanted that to be this month but my daughter (who works for the airlines) insisted there was no way to get a flight during pique season even though I told her it could be anywhere warm, no place specific.
Well, this might have turned out to be a good thing because I pulled out our passports this week. Um, well, needless to say, hubby's passport expired December 30th and mine expired January 3rd. So we are currently applying for passport renewals. The paperwork is done. This weekend we will go get passport photos and go to the post office to submit our renewal applications.
So, as much as I was looking forward to a vacation away with my husband, it will have to be put on hold for now.

My passport was in my hands within a week of applying the last time. Mind you I went to service Canada and handed everything in there. The photos were taken at the CAA office on our way to the passport office.

If the Service Canada place is the same place where we get our health cards and driver's licenses then we would be in a long line-up on any given day. If we go to the post office, they probably just deliver it to the Service Canada office. I don't think it would make that much of a difference.

@Morleyhunt Yes, I realized that when I was telling my husband about it. Though applying at the post office is considered "applying in person" and we are renewing as opposed to applying for new ones, so I don't think they'll take too long.
Service Ontario is also on Broadway but I think I do know where Service Canada is.

@patgalca Service Ontario is where you go to get your health card and drivers license. service Canada for passports. Not knowing exactly where you live....Orangeville has a Service Canada office on Broadway street.

The tension has pretty much gone. We're in a good place right now. But since my daughter works for an airlines I think we should be able to go away to some place other than just to visit his family. We've been married more than 19 years and our Hawaiian cruise in 2012 was the only vacation we have taken away alone together.

@Brittnyrose I had to really twist his arm to go because it's not cheap. But it was my 50th birthday and I was bound and determined that we would go.

A vacation to a warm place can make a person really happy sitting out in the sun. Normally, that is my weather; however, we are getting record amounts of rain. Hope your able to travel soon and hope its quick in Canada.

That is a bit upsetting but maybe better in a way after all. How long do passports take to get after you apply?

I hope your passports come in quickly. I have family that noted on Facebook that theirs came in so quickly they were surprised.

It will be well worth the wait I am sure. Sounds like things are going better with the two of you. That is wonderful. So happy for you!
