I love it when my brother comes to Florida with my sister-in-law and their dachshund, Lulu.
We always have so much fun together.
One night, he made dinner and brought it to our place, where I supplied the extras. He lives in the other building next to us, a one minute walk.
The next night, I made dinner.
We had dinner at his place
I made dinner last night.
Tonight we are going out to dinner together.
They arrived on January 5th and will fly home January 24th! I won't feel bad. They will be back in February for a week and return again in March for a long stretch.
By the way, we do other things together besides eating! Lol!

Do they come down a week to get things prepared for when they return for the longer stay? I lnow some do that. I think my parents are in Florida but I have not heard from them so I have no idea what part of Florida. I believe my father was supposed to be taking her down on the 13th and returning in February. I am nervous when they travel so far.

We both open our places when we arrive. Shopping for food is the main thing we do. Other than that, we have to connect the batteries on our cars. My brother came down in December to open his place. He was here to pick us up from the airport. His son came down with his girlfriend, so we hung out together before they all went home. My sister in law works, so they fly back and forth. My nephew's girlfriend flew in from LA. He lives in NYC. Flying doesn't bother me.

I love to see family too but we have rarely been able to get together lately. I am happy to hear your enjoyment of the visits.

@jhechorain They live in NYC and CT. We FaceTime often, but will return to CT in April. We are in Florida for the winter only. My brother and sis in law are only 45 minutes from us in CT, but her work keeps her ultra busy. She is using her vacation days to come to FL.

That is nice that you get to spend time with them! And even nicer that they have a place so close to yours! Was that by design, or did it end up being total coincidence that you chose locations so close together?

Thank you. When we bought our place, they visited us for a long weekend our first year. The second year, they came again for a visit. One of the board members was in the process of moving and had her place for sale. We all looked at it, and my brother bought it that day. Lol!

@moffittjc Thank you. It's great knowing he's down here, even if we don't see him every single day.

@Happy2BeMe Time is the main factor. My SIL works as a psychiatric nurse. Now she uses vacation time.
