FUN AT THE DRIVE-IN.

I have wonderful memories of going to the Drive-in movie theater with friends or family members. It was much more fun than sitting in a packed movie theater and having to purchase overpriced refreshments from the concessionaire. Instead we packed our own snacks and drinks.
I know drive-in theaters are not so popular now, but there are still a few in the city. Do you have one in your town? and which would you prefer, the drive-in or the regular movie house?

We still have a drive in in out area but I haven't been to it in quite some time. We also have a restaurant where they come out and serve you and put your food on a tray attached to the window like the picture above.

@Kandae11 yes I think it is because it is not something you see everywhere these days.

There is one about 30 mins. from us, it's very old. I have no desire to go!!! I like comfort too much.

@Kandae11 If it wasn't in use they wouldn't keep it open.

@AbbyGreenhill When you said old, I figured you meant it was run-down so I thought perhaps not many people would want to go there. And I understand, you don't find them comfortable.

We dont have a normal Drive in here but there is a spot that usually does this around 2 or 3 times a year. There isnt alot of people that go to these things here on the island but it is always something diferent.
That is why they do it a couple of times a year. This way more people would go to see the movie and of course they need to find an appealing movie.
On Valentines Day is one of the days they usually do this and more people go. They pick out some kind of romantic movie for people to watch.
I actually never went to one of ours here but am planning to go the next time they do this.

so sad to say, but our only movie house here in my city is already closed for 5 years now. blame this in the proliferation of pirated DVD's.

@Kandae11 a ticket in an enclosed movie house before it was closed, cost about a hundred pesos now, and it is just a single program and the movie-goers must leave the movie house once the show is finished;no watching it again.

There's no way I'm buying foods that are over priced. Well, cooked food is a lot better.

Drive-ins are extinct in my neck of the woods. They all seem to become swap meets.

These have been in various places we have lived along the way. There are still some in NC now! Sitting in the car sounds better than the indoor theater if the weather cooperates.
