She IS an American citizen...but she can not come home

So she is an American citizen.
She was born here.
Her father took her out of the country without her mother's permission several years ago.
She was raised Muslim in Libya (she had no choice).
But she IS an American citizen with her mother and brothers here.
And yet now, even if she was able to, she can't come home.
Because of Trump.
Because after all, banning Muslims is really going to stop terrorists that will just claim to NOT be Muslims.
(She is my ex-wife's daughter, a real living, breathing human)

The problem with these sort of one size fits all (or should that be nobody?) policies is that, unless you know an individual who actually suffers as a result, it's all too easy to be blind to the human cost.
While I can understand the sentiment behind the policy every case needs to be treated individually.

I can't even understand the sentiment. Does he (Trump) seriously think terrorists will go 'Oh, we're not allowed there, guess we'd better just forget about it now'.

@JolietJake I suppose what I was trying to say is I can understand what it was trying to achieve but it's not the way to go about it.. Like I say you really have to treat all cases individually as no two sets of circumstances are the same.
In the case of your ex's daughter then I would have thought, as an American citizen, she would have a legal right to be able to return.
It just makes me wonder what would happen to a Muslim American citizen who went on holiday somewhere outside of the country. Are they going to get back in?

@WorDazza The edict/order/demand/command (however one wishes to view it) only concerns people from 7 countries (right now). If they are FROM America then they are fine.
She is a citizen of Libya, one of the banned countries.

I have had Muslim neighbours....they were much better neighbours than many of the Christian neighbours we've had. Blanket policies cause a lot of heartache.

Not in America itself...banning them in America would not have had any effect to something that happened on a plane that was going TO America...

Trump is handling all these situations very poorly, inciting and cultivating hate crimes all over his own nation by passing this executive order. 99% of the people in those 7 countries did nothing wrong, why should they suffer over this? Just because they dreamed to have a better life in the land of opportunities, or because they are brown by skin, or because they follow an organized religion other than Christianity? And good people who are American by citizenship cannot come back just because they went to and lived in one of those countries? What the hell is he thinking?
