Indoor camping for a week or longer

United States
February 4, 2017 6:59am CST
Monday the counter top guy will be here bright and early to make the templates for our new counter tops. We are responsible for removing the current tops, sinks, faucets, etc. He needs everything out or we would have to pay $8 a linear foot for the granite company to do it. Our neighbor has graciously agreed to help my husband do the removal. He will be here at 9 am today and we've been busy putting all the bathroom necessities into our other two bathrooms. We will be showering in one bathroom and brushing teeth etc. in another. To me, this is camping LOL! Once the template is made the guys at the shop will fabricate the tops and we'll wait (semi) patiently for the new ones to arrived. It could be a week or longer..and to me this is camping, or as close to camping a I care to get! I just have to keep the finished project in my mind and I will survive! Photo is mine.

Beautiful bathroom, I notice your walls and seem to recall another room with the same walls. I have these walls in my bedroom, I love them. Camping to my sister is a hotel room, so I know where you are coming from.

The bedroom/ba, living, kitchen and halls are all done like a log cabin. The other two brs and baths, office, laundry, sewing room are 'normal' with sheet rock. This is not a log house - it's brick! Don't ask I have no clue why!

@fishtiger58 I like that I can put a nail anyplace..but over too much wood - floors, walls, ceilings.

I hope it all goes well for you! Changes in routine can be annoying at times, but at least you know the result should be good.

I had this kind of pleasant indoor camping years ago, it lasted one month and I was ready to kill someone. Good luck.

@AbbyGreenhill We had the refurbishments done in our kitchen and we could not refuse, because we lived in a rented apartment.

I will know better Monday how long until the install can happen. If we didn't have 2 more bathrooms then I don't think we would have done this.

That sounds like a plan while you are listening to the mess and to think of what it will look like when it is done is a good idea or you may go crazy waiting for it to be done.

We did the kitchen when we moved in - they had really ugly black cheap counters - only two year old and they were scratched and messed up....I let the bathroom go until I couldn't take it any more LOL!
