No Bible study this morning because half of us who come couldn't make it. I recently started reading a book by Norman Vincent Peele that is Bible based. Without going to get it I don't know the exact title, but it's daily inspirations. Since no Bible study, I read a bit more in there. Then.....I am cutting them out of the book to carry with me always when I need uplifting. It's my book so I can do that :) Now I'm surfing promoslices on both of my tablets while I get other things done here on my laptop. So many promoslices now!! With zubeezone stopping having cash redemptions a lot of the traffic exchanges have gone to promoslice. It's a guaranteed prize pool share for surfing for each entry. It's not much, but it's a guarantee, and promoslice still pays with paypal. Bowling this evening. There I've been working on the selvage toothbrush rug that I am making to enter into the state fair. I'm including a picture of my progress so far in this post. I've also been surfing from my phone while I work on the rug and bowl. I don't do well if I am not multi-tasking LOL I hope everyone's Tuesday is going well.

Thanks....I like making them too. In fact, I enjoy making them more than I do sewing.

@marsha32 I was subbing at a school yesterday and the students were doing rug hooking. The kind my grandma used to do. Made me want to finish the last rug she started.
Rug hooking is an interesting, inexpensive and practical hobby that is easy to learn.  Rug hooking, which is also known as rug-punching, is not latch-hooking; both crafts result in beautiful rugs, but the tools and materials used are different. Latch...

Oh my, we ended up bowling a team where all the players kept getting strike after strike. They beat us the first game by over 200 pins and we started with over a 200 pin handicap!

It will soon be done, but the larger it gets the more it's trying to not lay flat.

Out of fear I've never entered anything in the fair. Even if they take away the creative use of selvage category I can still enter it.

I had to take my rugs (like your's) out of the kitchen because they were fraying. I made them years ago so they don't owe me anything, they are now in my painting space in the basement. They were great for years, then one day in the washing machine....well sad story.

Oh no! They do last for years of wash and wear though, that is for sure. Some of the ones I crocheted with t-shirts many many years ago are now falling apart just from the material being old.

@PainsOnSlate The one at our front door is so dirty that I want to hang it on the line and use the hose too once the weather is really warm.

@marsha32 I have a few bigger ones that are still good but one is in my downstairs bathroom and it needs to be washed,,,but I'm thinking if I do that it will disintegrate. I might wait until summer and put it on the line and just use the hose...

Is you Bible study a small group? You are wise to start your fair project now. I love that sort of rug
