Okay Jose! You Were Wrong!

So I always call in to the free ride here for my daughter and grandson to get to their meds appts. I used to drive them and was reimbursed but I quit driving two springs ago and so I call in and set up transportation for them. This time my daughter has the annual reset up at the medical facility that they have to do each year so Medicaid continues to pay for their meds. I spoke to a young man named Jose. He set it up rather quickly and said that a bus pass would be sent out since the place she is going to is in a bus route and is under 5 miles away. I questioned it and told him I have been doing this for several years. He assured me he was doing it the right way and that others were in a hurry and didn't check the mileage. I said okay. Got off the phone and checked Google map to see how far it showed. It is 3.7 miles. I called back to make sure. I have learned over the years that things can change, no matter what you are dealing with, just by speaking to another representative. I got a older lady named Tracy this time and explained my situation. She checked and told me that actually Jose had been wrong. Due to the fact that the distance to the bus stop is more than 3/4 of a mile to and from that she can get a taxi. Whoa! And, she also told me that Josh will go in a taxi with no problem until he is 16. It just works so much better because Josh gets home about 2:10p. from school and then the taxi come about 2:30p. for his 3p. appt. And Cami and Josh were going together but I think I can get them to understand the bus stop differential and we won't have to worry about taking a bus. The bus takes FOREVER and so we like the taxi.

Wow that is great news then Celtic..a taxi will be much quicker and more convenient. I can get that too, but since the med place is only across the road and up a bit, I walk. My son could get it to his appts, but he is paranoid of taxis.

Paranoid of Taxis? Interesting. When Josh is 16 and if he can't get the taxi anylonger I don't know what we will do. If he has to take the bus it takes forever to get to places. Josh hates taking the city bus. I just like things to stay the same. Don't know.

A Taxi is always much better all round. That is a long way to walk for a Bus. Mind you I would have to walk further than that if I wanted to take a Bus and that is if I can cross the Motorways before I even start. Know just how it feels.

That's terrible. It has been tough for my daughter and grandson to get used to finding other transportation since I quit driving.

@celticeagle We would have a right game going to get a Taxi to come here too where we live so thank goodness we have the Car without it its like living in no mans land. It must be difficult for them yes. Once you get used to something like that its tough to get used to another way of doing things.
