I Definitely Need a To-Do List

I had a lot of things on my to-do list today and luckily I managed to get them all done. At one point, I thought that I might not make it but I can thank my family tree for that. I got caught up on a family who decided to change the spelling of their name 5 times. I poured three hours into that family, and I'm still not a hundred percent sure that I didn't move over into someone elses tree lol. And that WASN'T ON MY TO-DO LIST. But, I did get the laundry all put away and ironed and the bathrooms scrubbed top to bottom. Those were the two biggies for today. I have a list on the wall of my office and each day has certain household duties that need to be done. Today, I had to finish up the vacuuming from yesterday because it ran out of power about half way through. I How do you handle your household chores??

i don't need a to-do list since i live alone, for now. what i need is a to-buy/pay list. i've got plenty to write down in that list. about household chores, aside from cleaning the kitchen right after i cook, everything's good.

Not like you do anyway but that does sound a much better way to tackle them.

I have nothing for today because I accidentally did yesterday's chores by mistake. ;)

@Hate2Iron Well, that's good. But I'm wondering how you could 'accidentally' do chores before you need to! That would never happen with me.

Geneology is fascinating. Are you completing your whole family free. If the family changed their name 5 times I assume it was a very long time ago you are going back in your ancestry from when people immigrated. My great grandparents changed their names as well.

Yes, I was just working on one branch and the further I got back the more name changes I found. ;)

LOL... I put one major thing on the list a day. Probably takes me 5 minutes if I'm fast and then throughout the day I might stop and do something else... no pressure though haha

I handle my chores by making a list. I'll write down small jobs and make a huge list. This help me out because I feel like I'm being more productive. My list will say simple things like, "clean mirror", "sweep floor", "dust shelf", etc. These things take only a moment to do, but as I keep checking off each tiny thing, I feel like I'm getting a lot more done and it motivates me to get more done. I don't know if that makes sense but that's how I get my chores done. lol

Do you always need to prefix with an adjective? I mean, could you be confused as to whether you had to sweep the mirror or dust the floor?

Dismally if I am not up to par. But I pull lmyself together like today and get it all done in a quick flash too. I would love to be into my Family Tree but one I am not in my land and even if I was they would make me pay through the nose just for looking up my Great Grandmother. So I rely on Family History by word of mouth at the moment anyway.

Sometimes I have to them one after the other or at the same time.. Like cleaning while cooking or cooking while washing clothes and at the same time cleaning.

I simply do what needs to be done - without making plans.

Sometimes I do a to-do-list but most of the time, I just look around and see what needs to be done. It's mostly cleaning and arranging and the laundry so it isn't much to think of.
