The Month of Love

It was a good choice of Wedding date some 36 years ago, the day before the most celebrated day for Lovers . . . Yes today my hubby and I are celebrating our 36th Wedding Anniversary! Friday the 13th February many years ago we tied the knot - Our Church Service was private in many ways as the minister knew us both well, and the only ones witnessing were 28 people regarded as our closest and dearest. The next day my hubby had to return to his Army Station, but as he says, with a much bigger smile! An intimate reception with parents and friends and this is how my hubby and I normally celebrate our Anniversaries - Intimate. Today will be a little different as he is seeing the specialist at 3 o'clock with regards to his hand that was bitten by a KOB in the sea waters. Who would have thought a bite of an ordinary cob could do so much damage, but it has. They are considering admitting him to hospital and putting him on a drip to try and flush the blood poisoning out, but this remains to be seen. No anniversary dinner nor movie tonight, just a little anticipation on the prognosis of the hand. We have given each other a "RAIN CHEQUE" which means: a note issued by a person to allow the other person to get a special treat at a later date. Lawn Bowling went well on Saturday and my team and I won the "PINK LADIES BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY" Brilliant prizes too! No not all is bad news. Happy Monday everyone - have a great week. RUNTIME ERROR not permitting me to upload my photo - will try later

Happy Anniversary. I think it is great that you got married on Friday the 13th. I met my fiance on Friday the 13th and we have thought of making that our wedding day too. I hope things go well for hubby with his hand. I am sure once things are better you will have a wonderful anniversary celebration.

@1creekgirl My fiance and I met on March 13th! We haven't set a date yet. Just kind of waiting to see when my daughter's wedding is so that we don't take away from her wedding in anyway.

Happy Anniversary. Hope that hubbies hand heals quickly...infections are not fun. We will be having a quiet Valentine's Day, when my husband has chickens we don't wander to far from home. In a couple of weeks we will go away for about eight days when his barns are empty.

@Inlemay Most of the marriage I have seen with big parties and hundreds of guests have not lasted, included the one of my brother.

What does COB mean, please? It would be really nice if native speakers of English abstained from using abbreviations. But, obviously, it's not to be. Foreigners not living in an English-speaking country rarely know them.

Kob (salmon, kabeljou, croaker, drum) a FISH - The Kob is probably one of the most targeted edible saltwater fish off South Africa's coastline and is known by many names in Southern Africa: My error in spelling it with a C - I never thought it might be spelled with a K

First of all, congrats on so many years together! I'm sorry, though to hear about your husband's accident. What is a cob exactly? We'll be praying that he heals soon and completely and you can both enjoy your rain check in the near future. PS Nice photo!

Happy anniversary! That was a risk getting married on Friday 13th!! Obviously one that paid off though! Tell him from me that the bite was punishment for having you make all of his food for the trip Seriously though, I hope it gets sorted soon and you get on with some serious celebrating.

I'm sorry to hear about the bite on your husband's hand. I hope it comes good soon. And congratulations on winning the bowls. Our Friday night was cancelled because of the rain but it will be on again this Friday.
