My husband is doing the happy dance

In December the County Clerk's office sent out a letter saying he would receive information in January regarding his next three months of potential jury duty. No letter in January....I kept saying, just wait it will come. The letter came yesterday and he handed it to me to open - like that was going to change it LOL The letter started off by saying thank you for your service so I had a good clue that jury duty was over..it is - he's done...no jurors needed. No more calls to the courthouse to check if he was needed. He did his time, he served on a jury, he's done. Photo from Pixabay.

Great! Last time I did jury durty it was weird. I was called three times to come. I would get to the designated parking place/lot the last time I was in the transfer car and they were called that we weren't needed. Haven't been called again thank goodness.

@sueznewz2 He was on one case early on. It was one day, on full day 9 am until almost 6 pm. But then we had to call the courthouse every Monday evening to see if he had to report the next day - we had to to that three times a week. I have no cue what happens to people who work but our country is majority old people and lot of non working people. He was paid $18 and that included mileage!

@AbbyGreenhill yes that's good... I'm sure that in the uk you just do 2 weeks and then you're finished ... unless you are on a supreme court major case... I know you are both retired .... but ..if your husband was on call for jury duty for a year.. how often did he get called... and does it work the same for people who are still working... ? do they get paid..??

That's cool I've never been called since we moved to Canada. Was called a couple of time while in the states but never had to sit in a jury.

@AbbyGreenhill I remember reading about it on your posts before - how you are on the 'roll' for a year.
