Many ponds are frozen in the United States. This year my fish don't want to sleep for the winter, as its been really warm. Some years they sleep for a couple weeks. They are now eating Japanese Koi Food and one of my neighbors said she loves the smell.

@Fishmomma Those who have fishes in the pond needs a heating system because the ice on the surface lasts so long that they would lack oxygen .

@LadyDuck I bought a pond deicer and haven't used it yet. Its 50 degrees now and headed on the way up with more rain. In the cold areas of the United States their ponds are completely different than mine. They have different plants and many of their plants I can't grow because they are banned in this state. I only buy plants in this state because of the plant rules.
