Valentine's Day Slipped Right Past Us

Here's how we spent Valentine's Day. I slept until 10. We watched the White House Press Briefing and I ate my breakfast while watching. Hubby ate his breakfast after it was over. Both of us stayed in our PJ's until we needed to go somewhere. I did a bit of work on the computer while waiting for my eye doctor appointment. Then I left.
By the time I got home I developed a headache. We watched the last half of a program and then I put a frozen pizza in the oven. Then Hubby left on some errands. I sat and read, hoping my headache would get better. It didn't. It's still there and since it's almost midnight and tomorrow's blog is finished, I will go to bed soon and hope I can sleep it off. I've developed this sinus headache every late afternoon this week.
I guess that doesn't sound like a very romantic day, but he's recovering from a root canal he had yesterday and I didn't feel good either. You don't have to go out to celebrate 53 years of love. Sometimes just being together, and being glad you are still together, is enough to celebrate.
What do you think of that?

Our big concession to Valentine's Day....we purchased a card for each other....dinner was served on our new valentines placemats with special paper (normally I use cloth) napkins with hearts on them. The hearts can rapper on the anniversary of our engagement (June 13) and again in November for our wedding anniversary.

Sounds good to me. My husband lived in Niagara Falls when he was a teen. His family emigrated to Canada after they fled from the former Yugoslavia.

@Morleyhunt My husband didn't dare go back for a visit until 1972, and I went with him. His relatives had said it was safe to return.

@bagarad my parents came to Canada as newlyweds. They could not foresee a future in post war Europe. When they came they didn't know if they would ever see their families again. Improved travel meant they returned to the Netherlands many times.

Nothing wrong with just staying in and spending time together. Hope you feel better soon.

I really like that the best most of the time. I just wish my husband could walk with me on my photo walks.

It becomes an issue only if one seriously believes that there is a day such as that. But in my case I cannot but remember because eleven years ago I had that near fatal road accident on Feb 14.

I think that's very sound thinking.
Now me, I get the sinus headaches before I get up in the mornings and by six pm they are usually gone. I almost thought one was headed my way this morning but I needed to get blood work done before eating anything so got up earlier than I wanted to do that. Now that I've eaten I'm getting tired again. I may just go back for one more snooze before seeing what I can accomplish this fine colder day.

It sounds like a lovely day with the exception of the headache and root canal. Mike and I worked outside, trimming bushes and trees. Still have some more to do probably on Friday. It's raining today and I work tomorrow. Have a blessed day
