Time wasting people

Time wasting people I don’t really get some people who will go to great lengths to waste your time. Someone sent me a message via email (not through my Etsy store, which was ok) about an item in my store, although the item wasn’t really how they needed but asked if I could change a few things, which I did and sent them the photos, 3 times. Some 20 plus emails later they are still, going over the same things, they can’t see the photos for some reason or another and asked about the price several times even though I’ve answered them. Sometimes I’m too kind and wanting to help people for my own good. Early today I emailed them saying to contact me via my store and store only. Do you even have people wasting your time over something? What do you do when it happens to you when people waste your time, maybe it never happens to you, maybe it’s just me.

Things like that do drive me crazy especially when you're trying to accommodate them. I think you did the smart thing about having them contact you through the store from now on.

I hate when that happens. I have a potential buyer on an app I am selling ask me questions and after asking 101 questions, I have not heard from her in two days. What a waste of time, at least tell me thanks or something!

@kevin1877uk Yes totally! But I'm not a fan of those types of people. Or if they are flakers just accept it and apologize for time wasted so you don't have to wait on them!

@Drosophila No, I've not heard back from them, I said to only contact me via Etsy from now on and not heard a word lol. Looks like rain here, the sun was out this morning but by lunch time it had clouded over.

It can be, never had it happen before so I don't understand why they had problems with seeing the photos I sent three times or the pricing, to me they just didn't look or want to or maybe they did but kept on asking, which in turn was waste my time. Oh well never mind, if they are wanting to continue then they will have to use Etsy from now on as I won't be answering any more messages from them. Anyways, Wendy how are you, how is Dublin, lovely and sunny here in Plymouth YAY.

I'm sure many people never read their emails right through. And rather than search for your previous email they prefer to just ask the questions again. Very annoying.

Yes, I agree Judy they don't and very annoying, having to go over what you have said and resend photos and so on.

Yeah, I had a few customers like that this week in the store. I think that's a bit worse than dealing with them over email, personally... can't roll your eyes and put them off when they're standing right there in front of you. There comes a point where it starts seeming like they're being willfully obtuse, though... Hope they decide to buy and make the hassle worth it for you.

Thank you, Lynn, only time will well, I don't like being firm with people and I always go the extra mile to help and make sure things are right and to their needs. I think it's worse being face to face with someone, then again body language says a lot and that something you don't have via email.

@kevin1877uk That's very true. Nothing like having a customer getting in your face because they don't understand the concept of the amount they paid on a gift card and the amount charged to their debit card equaling a grand total...

that's exactly why i charge a deposit to change products on zazzle.too many people play that game with artists of all types.and i'm done with time wasters like that.they have you alter something multiple times and then disappear.

It's frustrating when this happens. It can be tiresome to have to explain the same thing over and over again. I don't understand some people.

Ugh. It's a bit stickier with business too, just because they are always potential customers and they might spread word about your business - good or bad. Oh yes, I have people who waste my time all the time . . . they are either inefficient listeners or they are too lazy to go find out things on their own.

Though I do not sell anything, I rarely have seen time delays when something which I had ordered had taken more than the usual time to reach me. Recently I ordered a refrigerator, the salesman at the store suggested the item would be delivered right the next day after the day of my purchase. But I had to wait for a week to get it.

Big Pet Peeve. Both online and offline. Personally expecting you to change something so you do and then they act as if you have not done like they wish and keep on wanting you to change it and then never want to buy any of them. Big waste of time, and usually I end up having to Block them if online and if in person I just tell them Sorry if you can't buy what is here, I cannot help you.

Thank you, Roz, I totally agree with you, saying they couldn't see the photos and then asking for the price, like if I was going to change my mind or something. If they are wanting to continue then they would need to be contacting me via my Etsy store and Etsy only, as you know I don't mind people messaging me, I do welcome it, but there are limits. If they were to use Etsy it's linked to my mobile phone with the Etsy app and I can get back to them within minutes if I'm not asleep. Oh well Roz, not to worry. How are you anyways?

There are many possible explanations. It's a way of attracting attention. Maybe they have nobody to communicate with. Or they're mentally unstable.
