I grew up being told drink your milk for healthy bones. I'm not sure if today parents say the same thing. Today purchased 1/2 gallon of milk, which was on sale for $4.19 usual price $4.49. What is the price of milk where you live now? Do you buy milk no matter what the price?

I prefer to drink juice and coffee. The milk is for my daughter, as she likes to pour it on cereal and uses it in pudding. I make her French Toast with the milk.

@LadyDuck I went to read the article and how much milk is suggested adults drink and other sources to get calcium. I can see several ways that cost less than milk in this area.

@Fishmomma Young people can drink milk, but adults should avoid milk.

I'm not either, as I drank a lot as a child living on a farm. I use some in baking and my daughter drinks it.

I buy organic quart for $3.39. Depending on expiration I either get the 1%,2% or fat free :)
Whenever we buy half gallon we don't drink it all. When we buy the quart we drink it all and need more

I think the reason milk costs are high is because of transportation costs. One of my friends use to live in Alaska and her milk was higher than mine. Her family started drinking powdered milk.
The products we grow in the area aren't expensive like oranges and lemons. Normally, strawberries are affordable, but the fields are flooding, so it could end up being an expensive year to eat here. I love strawberries and my plants don't look good now.

I agree my daughter loves milk and this carton is for her. Its hard to buy everything when some items are costly.

Looks at price of milk in your area and does a spit take, lol. Milk here in utah the cheapest is 2.25 a gallon. We go through 3 gallons a week. I thought we were expensive.

Wow, three gallons a week I would need the price to be lower fast. I grew up on a farm, so never had to consider what milk sold for in the store. Milk is the one item that really is costly and I consider it a must buy.
I like your user name, as my daughter works in the library.
