Children's Rocking Chairs

Years ago my daughter and I bought two child size rocking chairs. They got put in my studio space and were forgotten. Our idea when we bought them on the cheap was to paint them and sell them...
My daughter was here for a few days and asked if we could start painting on those rockers. While she was visiting a friend I sanded them down had my husband re glue one of them and base coated one for my daughter to play with. If she is going to push me I might as well give her something to do...
A while ago I posted a photo and did a discussion about the coasters I painted for my daughter's birthday. She LOVED THEM.
She especially loved the shapes painted on the two in the photo above and asked if we could put something like that on the rockers...
I said sure, would you like to start the process? She is not a painter but she sat in my work place every minute she could and almost finished the shape coating of one of the chairs.
In the photo above you can see what she did. Today I am finishing the shapes and next comes the lines and dots that gives them their charm.
I think they will be beautiful when done.
Hopefully there will be room for a couple of gorgeous small children's rocking chairs in the store that sells my slate. Even if it one at a time...
When they are ready for sale I will take photo of the finished product.
Now its time to get back to painting, I hope you enjoy your day.

It had already been painted a long time ago by someone else, I sanded the paint bumps down but it needed paint and my daughter got me moving... I bought them with the thought I could paint on them and sell them..recycling...

you can't help smiling when you see them. you can also do polka dots, stripes, hearts, flowers, balloons, animal faces, boats, planes, trains, etc.

@PainsOnSlate We are having a great time, we went down to Wildwood again today and found the best restaurant. Next year we can go there for a get together it is wonderful. I had a salad today which is probably the best I have ever had. oh yum and coconut cake. lol

When I get the details on it I will show it again before I sell it. I'm am up to my armpits with painting for the stores right now and need to get them stocked and then i can play with the rocking chair. I hope you are having a good time in Florida.

@Juliaacv Yes that is probably true, I never thought of my two older as artistic but you are right. My youngest went to Art School, he was and is always painting or drawing...

Hmmm... those are very colorful, pains. I believe kids would love to sit in your painted rocking chairs!

I love the colors and design in both. My granddaughter would love the chair. I have a small table and chairs for her to sit in. But, a rocking chair would be great!

I've been painting too much, my wrist is hurting. The chair will have to wait, I have orders to deliver...It will be awesome when done.
