...and now for the Cardinals

The birds are cooperating...they must have heard I got the new camera and are coming by to pose for me.
I get large flocks of cardinals around dawn and dusk, but this pair showed up a few minutes ago.
The female is on the left, the male on the right.
I don't know if they bond the way doves do, but I very seldom see them singularly, they always seem to show up in matched pairs.

I wonder about the cardinals too. I also wonder if I will ever see one except in pictures.

Very pretty! You have a place full of birds. We do too but usually just blue jays and sometimes sparrows...
One year we did have a pair of turkeys during the winter coming back all of the season.

Your camera is indeed fit for the birds. May be a slide show when you have said 'enough is enough'?

Cardinals are funny birds.
My husband used to have a black car, that I detested, but he loved.
We gave it to our son to use for a year while he took a grad course near our home.
And it had to be left outside as we only have a 2-car garage.
We used to have a cardinal come along and perch on the window ledge and look at himself in the side-view mirror. And he'd sit there for an hour at a time, looking at himself and pecking at the reflection in the mirror.
And he'd leave his bird droppings all over the door of the car-it was so funny!

Great photo. I love taking pictures of birds. Of course if I can get to snap before the take off.

The male is bright red colorful to attract the "drab" female.
