I don't care that they are old

air hostess

A read a news online and it said that the airlines in Russia didn't let some air hostesses serve for the international flights because they are old and don't look beautiful. I really don't like this. When I take a flight, I never care about whether the air hostesses are beautiful or young. I pay attention to their service much more. If they are nice and friendly, there is no reason to dismiss them. It is the same for the waitresses, receptionists and so on. In fact sometimes the elders are patient, experienced and respected and I like them.

It's a shame that there is such age discrimination all over the world.

Age should not matter when you have a job. Everyone should be able to do that job as long as they can do it or if they are good.

That is discimination! I don't think I'll ever have to take a Russian Flight, but if I did I'd try to find another airline instead!

This unfair case doesn't happen to the airflights alone.

This was the rule with many European countries in the past. One of my friend was a hostess for Alitalia, she was immediately sent to serve on International flights because she was young and beautiful.

I think this would be the case anywhere. Businesses want young and pretty employees as their first point of contact for customers. It may not be right but that's the way it is - at least in most cases.

The young people will have less burden for families, too. Try to imagine the parents also need some time to take care of their children. It is really not easy, especially when the children don't feel well.

when the stewardesses are already old, it should mean they are already seasoned and can master the routines of being one. i wonder why they get rid of the old stewardesses? there is age discrimination.

I do not think one will stop flying if they see aged air hostesses. As you said service is the main thing when one is flying. I have taken several flights and I do not remember looking to see if the airhostess is young or old

i agree. businesses like front-liners to be attractive, but it's not really a guarantee that they will do the job right, or treat the customer well.
