This week my Facebook was full of TAGS of various different International eating plans . . . Shrove Tuesday 27th - Pancake Day as well as International Milktart Day, Ash Wednesday Fasting, and then yesterday my favourite eatery - RoseMary's tagged me in the Friday FIG CAKE delight! I feel like its been a week of festivities with all the mention of eating going on. However I didn't make any pancakes, nor any milktart's BUT I did go for the FIG CAKE treat! The Fig cake is a vanilla honey cake, filled with glazed fig preserves as well as here and there a glazed cherry. Its not too sweet and only has a desert spoon of double clotted cream. To die for! That has been my Saturday morning and now I am off to prepare for a Bowling Club Competition with a new male partner - wish me luck!

@MALUSE I am not a lover of figs. Those bitty seeds are horrible it is like eating gravel. I know some places think it is' A La Mode'to have fig jam or jelly served with food but this I can not bear the stuff !

Ooohh, fig cake sounds nice. We totally forgot Shrove Tuesday so had pancakes on Wednesday instead. We have guests coming on Monday so I might extend myself and make a sort of upside-down cake - well, I do live in Australia after all! Good luck with the bowls.

@Inlemay I hadn't thought of that. I hope it's good enough for me to take a photo of - and that I don't have to smother it in custard!

I love fresh figs, I cannot wait to see them on the shelves. Dried figs are not my favorite thing.
