How To Get Some Money!

It would be easy to start with the line, everyone wants to get things the easy way!, but that wouldn't really be accurate. There are many who are willing to work...ther at others who expect to have everything handed to them, preferably gift wrapped. This meme jumped out at me from the screen when I checked my Facebook account. The truth of it is so obvious.. Sharing a meme, typing amen....showing the love....doesn't do anything except prove that there are a lot of fools out there. So many things are blindly shared....yes they might be funny, some might be interesting and thought provoking. But seriously....typing Amen will not make you rich. Earlier this week I watched a Jeff Foxworthy clip on YouTube. He discussed retirement funds. There are two schools of thought: The first, save for your retirement.....the second.....buy a lottery ticket. No handouts are expected, but if you want to send some money my way I won't complain, but hard work has two rewards....the financial reward and the sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

That sense of accomplishment which tugs your heart.

I always see posts of loads of money which if you shared, luck will be on the way. Like how? If we want money, we should work for it.

That was why I liked this meme so much. Many of those Facebook forwards remind me of the old chain letters. I didn't pass them along either. I guess I'm just a stick in the mud.

@Morleyhunt yes, definitely like those chain letters. Share or blah years of bad luck.

@nottoooldtowrite I guess that's why I have such "bad" luck? I didn't share..... Somehow I feel my luck hasn't been that bad, in fact, I am so blessed!

haha, very good advice. Most people use their money to buy lottery and never think about saving up for retirement.

@Morleyhunt Everyone hopes that retirement is luxurious but nobody plans for it in this way. If we can save half of our income for the whole of our working life, we are likely to have a very luxurious retirement, but none of us can do that.

@scheng1 we can save for retirement, but we also need to live in the moment. Someday might not come.

Retirement is not going to be luxurious, but we've not counted on that winning ticket to provide for our needs.

I saw that on Facebook, too, and many others like that. A fool will always be a fool. 'Nuff said. My son is living proof that if you want financial rewards, you have to work for them.

Absolutely. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone, somewhere had to work to produce it.

@Morleyhunt that is why i wonder why many type AMEN when the post says "Jesus shares" and the picture shows bundles of money. surely Christ won't give money on the table, as it is,right?

I wasn't preaching to you. I just thought it was so appropriate whe it popped up on Facebook. I've been broke, and I mean broke....when there was a tax mistake made (not by me, by the accountant) for brief moment (very brief). I considered. Jumping from a bridge. When your bank account is $0.00, there's no prospect of increasing it in the near future, your grocery budget (after all the important bills are paid) is less than $100 a month, and you are presented with a bill for $23,000.00. I cried. I looked at the papers....I cried. I tried to call the office....it wouldn't reopen for 12 hours.....I cried again. The next morning I gave the accountant what for.....ten minutes later...he called back....oops I made a mistake...really you are getting a refund.... I think I wrote about this nightmare on the old Bubblews site.

@Morleyhunt No I was not saying your were preaching to me, but that I am a hard worker and a like and share will not bring in money. I know the people you are talking about, I have them in my family. I have hit rock bottom with no money, bills piled up, lights cut off and the only food was beans and cornbread, water to drink and no car. But like you said, I got off my butt and got to work, sitting and waiting will not get you off the floor and the nills paid.

That sort of thing gets on my nerves. As you say, making a comment on a meme isn't going to make anyone rich. It also annoys me, however, when people say that good things come to those who work for it. Not that I don't agree completely. I just happen to know that there are so many people who do work hard but still have little or nothing to show for it.

I'm not one for FB, I do have an account but only post my knitting there, on my knitting page, otherwise I'm not that interested in the website. Yes, I agree week and reward.

Hard work has both economic and personal benefits, I agree. We can't be based on luck to make a living, it is important to have a plan in life and put a lot of effort on it.

@Morleyhunt That's good for your children too. Many kids nowadays have the impression that life is easy and they are looking for the easy solutions.

Unfortunately those of us who have worked will end up funding those who bought the lottery ticket!! That is the sad part.

So true. I learned at a young age...if I want something I work for it. If I want it badly enough, I'll fin a way to make it happen. But I work for it...I don't expect to have it handed to me.

It infuriates me to see "Christians" treating Almighty God like a genie in a bottle. Where's "type 'amen' and share" in the Bible? We are supposed to worship Him, not treat Him like a butler. Sorry, you hit a sore spot with me....if you can't tell. I totally agree with your discussion...and I love the comment written in on the picture!!!!

I feel as you do. It angers and upsets me to see these posts. The comment written on the meme makes it. I rarely share things like this...but this one needed to be shared.

I fail to see what Amen has to do with working and money, but all right, its from the internet. I'm looking for work for next month after we move, I know that I'll go stir-crazy if I don't have anything to do all day long, of course a couple of weeks of that wouldn't be too bad.

I agree with you. Just by typing Amen won't work unless you believe on it. Believing has a power to make your dreams into a reality. But before that you have to ask first. Those are still not enough, the next step is to work for what you want. I agree also that everybody wants an easy money but there is not such thing as easy money. Everything requires some level of effort. Everybody wants to be rich but not everybody is willing to do the hard work to be rich.
