The human eye and it's function is really quite remarkable, of coarse. Our sense of sight is a wonderful gift. Vision is awesome.
At times, we may take all of that for granted, until, we see something very subtle, and a bit annoying, such as... a phenomenon called eye floaters.
It may have happened to you, when you looked at a clear blue sky. Did you ever experience the (elusive) floater phenomenon? And did you too, also research -- or check with your doc, regarding it?
Also, do you know of how to prevent them -- or have any good tips to share?
Here is a video, in which "floaters" are explained ~

@jaboUK Do not worry about them Janet, I have discussed this matter many time with my eye doctors. Eye floaters are caused by age-related changes that occur as the jelly-like substance (vitreous) inside the eyes. The tiny fibers within the vitreous clump and cast tiny shadows on the retina. We see them like floaters.

@MarleneAM I'll ask about it when I get my eyes checked next.

I frequently notice floaters and while they are mildly irritating, my ophthalmologist says there's nothing to be done about them. Of course, the last time I got my eyes checked was about 8 years ago so things may have changed since then!
What is really irritating, though, is the dark spots I see when my blood pressure goes too high. That's a signal to go take some extra medication since it's usually around 170/130 when that happens.

I have experienced a great deal of this, far more than most people would. I had an infection in my eyes many years ago, which caused a small debris of particles to settle at the bottom of the eye. Any activity such as running or shaking my head would cause these to move around, which gave a similar appearance to the snow globes that people have for Christmas scenes.

@Marilynda1225 You do learn to live with it in time, but it can be very distractive.

Yes I see them occasionally and no I never talk to my eye doctor about them I already know that they aren't harmful and just annoying and you just have to leave them alone and hope for the best.

I have floaters but normally they don't bother me. I see them mostly when I'm laying in bed staring at the ceiling.
