Koi Fish / myLot

This post is to tell all of you a little about my fish. First there are 11 Koi in my pond and they love mornings. They are ready to eat at first light every day and eat once a day. Right now, they are eating Spring & Fall Food, as the water temperature is lower. I already have a large bag of food for Summer, which will arrive soon for me. The new leaves on my water lilies have already arrived. They will be blooming this week. What kind of pets do you have now?

We have no pets of our own, but the cats of my neighbors are free to come to my garden, so that I can play with them.

That is fun. My area doesn't have many cats, as there are a lot of people dog walking and one particular neighbor is dog running, as the dog is faster than the guy. He sure is fit and so is the dog.

@Fishmomma I know that in the United States in many areas cats must remain inside the houses. Here they are free to go around, if they are neutered.

I have 4 dogs, 15 cats. I used to have tropical fish. A koi pond would be awesome, But I will probably never have one.. but maybe someday I will start up my fish tank again. I miss watching them they were so relaxing.

I use to have a tropical fish tank with Mollies and they would have many babies. The fish are gone, as moved and couldn't take them with me. We built the pond and bought 6 Koi and a few eggs made it. The babies really grew fast. I may get a dog, as my neighbor's dog is great with the fish. Thanks for posting and have a great week.

@Fishmomma - Yes Mollies are one of the fish I had, I also had Platys and Swordtails Along with a bunch of others- I love watching them give birth to the live young. I could watch them for hours.

I thought people would enjoy learning about outdoor fish. Many places in the United States the ponds freeze and they don't feed the fish at all during the winter. This area is really warm, so the fish eat year round most of the time. We haven't had any freezes this year and the chance of it happening are really low. Its more likely to see really high temperatures here.

I also want to have koi but we have no pond. As of now our pets includes two dogs named Happy and Galema, two rabbits named Tigo and Baloney, and a goat.

I grew up with a dog, goats and bunnies. We had about 100 rabbits on a farm. Thanks for posting and have a great day.
