Aww someone delivered a pizza to my house

I heard a car door and looked out the window and saw a car I didn't recognize. My son saw a guy carrying a pizza box. I heard a knock at the door and quick threw off my robe and braced myself for the embarassment of being seen without makeup. It wasn't a total stranger like I had hoped (then I would be less embarassed at not having makeup on) I thought how sweet it was someone ordered a pizza for my kids and I. But then when he asked if I ordered a pizza and I said no and asked the name we realized it was for the neighbors. Bummer! Ever had anything like this happen to you? I thought just to brighten this post up a little I would share a drawing my 9 year old son did of a Rhino in the style of the artist Albrecht Durer.

It happened once to us. The pizza guy couldn't find the right address.

Did you hope the same as I that someone was sweet enough to send you a surprise pizza?

@shaggin No, I knew he had the wrong house. I did wonder why he was there.

I did have a pizza delivery guy knock on our door one time and offer us a bunch of pizzas for half price. He had said that it appeared to have a been a prank call for a pizza order, and since they made the pizzas and drove all the way out to deliver them (to a phantom person at a phantom address), he didn't want them to go to waste. Given that I was hungry at the time, I did not hesitate to grab up those pizzas at a substantial discount!

Wow well that worked out well in your favor then. I would be very upset if I was thinking pizza company and had to go through a prank like that. The guy the pizza was for is old and extremely slow answering the door as he had a stroke and only half of his body works. I am hoping the delivery guy waited around until he got to the door. I meant to mention that to him but didn't think of it until he had walked away.

@shaggin Do you have an opportunity to help your neighbor, by ordering pizzas for him and having them delivered to your door? That way, the pizza guy doesn't have to stand around waiting for the neighbor to get to the door.

The lady threw OFF a robe when the pizza guy arrived? There are quite a few movies online with that as the basic plot premise (so I'm told...)

@asfarasiknow lol my sister could not say my name when we were very small and this is what she called me. Strange enough my son said it the same way when he was little.

Ha ha ha oh boy you gave me a good laugh reading that. I have watched many movies like that which are so cheesy I fast forward to the good parts and turn the volume down as well.

He has talent. Yes that happened on a few occasions when I lived in the city - got a pizza delivery meant for next door.

He seems to be pretty good at art. I am okay and his father was pretty good. My daughter is really talented. I share a lot of her artwork on Facebook with my friends.

@shaggin Sometimes it runs in families. My father was a very good artist as well, I try a bit and my son is also reasonably good.

Interesting artistic style! I never had anyone wrongly deliver some pizza to my place.

I was just imagining how comfortable you would feel eating something that did not belong to you So your son is on the way to becoming an artist of substance

I wish the guy said to me than for the trouble of answering the door in the freezing cold and being seen without all my face made up with makeup that I could keep the pizza.

This was for my son's cyber school art class they had to draw their own rhino adding patterns to it to resemble the rhino print by Albrecht Durer.

@hereandthere He drew it with pencil and paper and pen. It is just his classes are online as well as in books where he learns the lessons.

Oh NO! What a shame the pizza was not for you. This cannot happen here, we have no home delivery of pizza in our village.

I like the option of delivery but most places around here in our small town do not do it. This is a special thing that this local men's club does during Lent I think.

I was just telling my niece about this and she laughed at me too just like my kids did. Apparently I am the only one naive enough to think someone would be so sweet as to have a pizza delivered to me as a gift for dinner.

I'm pretty cheap. I get frozen pizzas at Aldi's for under $3 so I would not have ordered one of these $16 pizzas. I do wish someone had sent it to me as a present though ha ha

Nope I would have just loved to receive it as a surprise but I do not want to pay the $16 to have one made and delivered to me.
