His Lordship, Ruler of the Universe, the Evil Demon Spawn Scar

He looks so innocent when He is sleeping.
This is HIS spot when I lay down to read each night.
Right next to my feet.
They either don't stink, or he likes the odor.
Gets a bit tricky to get up to go to the bathroom without waking Him up.
If I am not careful, I get those "HOW DARE YOU DISTURB MY SLUMBER!!!" looks.

It's funny how kids and pets think it's okay to wake us whenever they want but when we do it to them it's a problem. Lol.

If I shift around too much He opens one eye...it's scary when you get 'The Look' with only one eye

@JolietJake I bet it does look scary. I also dread having to look at my cat whenever I disturb her sleep at night because I have to go to the toilet. Sometimes, I also get an extra bite on the toes aside from the look.

I just woke up my daughter (it's 10am) and she just gave me a look like she wants to kill me. But then again, she's 17, and I remember when I was that age I would sleep til noon.

@slayer08 He's a bit aloof, but occasionally he climbs in my arms to be held...but only when HE wants it

@JolietJake He is!!!! Does he like it when you hug and kiss him? I like cats, they're so cuddly even if they scratch and bite sometimes.

There's no accounting for cats' (or dogs') preference for sleeping on one's feet. Of course, in cold weather, it can be a boon. Old tombstones here (the kind that you find inside churches with a carving of the occupant in a recumbent position on top) sometimes show a lord or a lady with their dog sleeping at their feet, so it has clearly been the custom since time immemorial.
My current cat, Mephistopheles, is not a foot sleeper but he does choose some very weird places to go to sleep sometimes! Often we have to negotiate with him before we can brush our teeth or wash our hands! Of course, one gets the classic "hard stare" when he is asked to move!

@JolietJake Just don't try to give them a bath, or so I've heard. When we clean windows for customers with cats many will try to get a taste of the water. Some will watch us through the windows and their heads will bob up and down with the rhythm of our work.
Maybe once I retire I can take time to label all my photos so I can find them faster.

When I was young, I had one cat that would start off laying next to my feet at night, but somehow by morning would be on top of my legs/feet, and God forbid if I was to try to roll over or something!
I also had a cat that was fond of sleeping on my head, but I had to keep her out of my room because I just couldn't handle her sleeping on my head every night!

@JolietJake Well, at least he's headed in the right direction! Does that mean next he'll be completely off your bed? lol

@moffittjc If he moved off the bed now, probably jj wouldn't get much sleep for a while if he's used to the bit of weight.

He started out next to my head when I first got him, then moved to my chest, then finally settled for my feet.

@JolietJake I remember the last week of our dog's life, she didn't have the strength to get up on the bed, we had to lift her up.

He felt me shift a bit as I was reading and halfway opened one eye to make sure I wasn't doing anything without His permission

It was always funny when I'd get up to go to the bathroom and return to bed. The queen of the house, who had been slumbering peacefully at the foot of the bed, had managed in 60 seconds to make it to my pillow and fall back asleep. No wonder people say it's a dog's life.
Now I have to go feed some of Scar's co-conspirators in world domination....

You ought to try having 5 of them sleeping with you @JolietJake . The are lined up down both sides of my body. None of them are light-weight either so it feels like being mummy wrapped.

Fifi sleeps by my feet (she doesn't like my husbands feet) and when I move them in the night she will growl if I try to shift her.

Every once in a while, Scar starts sniffing them through the blanket and then sits there with his mouth hanging open...not sure if he's getting high or what

@JolietJake Jack did eventually.... but then he liked to attack my hair as I slept.
It would be in a ponytail and waist length it spread everywhere. Waking up with a cat in your hair is less than fun
