I miss those good old days of 35mm film

Boy, do I miss getting the quality shots I used to take with my old 35mm cameras.
I never had to worry about whether or not I could get a copy of a negative, I just had to bring it to the photo place and request a copy of what ever frame I preferred.
This morning I wanted to find a couple of shots of both Ally and Boobear I'd taken over the last 5 years which are all stored on a Seagate external hard drive. To my horror the device had a really severe case of the hic ups. That stupid thing would start to load so I waited, 10 minutes went by and I still could not access any photos. Finally 20 minutes later I gained access to a few older shots, like the one above of Ally after she'd commandeered Mykey's chew stick, it's a favorite of mine and am I relieved to have gained access to it. Oh, the reason I removed the background is so you can't see the mess in the room
So now I have to figure out what caused this NEW Seagate device to malfunction, it contains all the thousands of pictures I've taken since I went digital, which I am still sorry I had to do. 35mm film will always be 100 times better than digital especially when it comes to quality.
Do you have an external drive where you keep your photos?

I do believe you know a lot more about photography than I do @pgntwo I just like taking photos, I never really understood my camera well enough to figure out what an aperture was. I always did get lucky though, I had a 2.8 wide angle lens which allowed me to take some nice close ups of flowers .... yeah, I know a wide angle was supposed to be used to take landscape shots but it worked so well when taking shots of flowers.

@rebelann Conditions are apt to be a touch greyer hereabouts. I used to use 400ASA, permitting reasonable indoor shots, and allowing a small aperture for greater depth of field on outdoor shots. Oh, I remember those days so well.

I don't have a printer so I am not familiar with the quality of a laser print. But when I take a digital photo to Costco to have them enlarged to 8x10s they came out grainy, the lab tech told me it was due to my camera at the time, it was a Vivitar that used 5 mega pixals and the quality was horrible. I got rid of that camera, now I have a Nikon that provides 24 mega pixels.

Ever since I started with my digital camera, I have difficulties discovering in what part of the computer they are. I don“t place pictures here, because most of my pictures are in my old computer upstairs. The real photos, the old ones, I can see in my albums every time I want to.

@rebelann Those are the photos I cherish of my loved ones. I have several in my bedroom, at the walls and on the dresser.

Exactly @marguicha
I haven't been able to get a good 8x10 enlargement from any of the digital shots I've taken, they always look so grainy.

I have scanned all my black and white photos and loaded them in my cam folder. So far so good. No I do not have a pen drive but hoping nothing untoward will happen to my disk. Sometime ago when I had to format my technician misplaced my cam folder and I thought I had lost it for good but accidentally I found it. It has well over 1000 photos.

I know, but you take some really good ones. And yes, I think she might just be over photographed but who wouldn't with that mug, right?
This is my favorite accident I've gotten, its just a shame I didn't clean house before snapping that shot.

Thank you so much. I need to be spending time trying to figure out how to set up my old PC to use as a storage unit, it has Windows 7 on it but I don't plan to ever use it online again. I've got so many irons in the fire right now, I've started 3 projects out of which one is coming along nicely and unfortunately it's not the weed pulling, that's seems to be an unending project
