I roasted a turkey

Turkey has a lot of protein but is easy to digest. I had one I was thawing in a cooler chest. The day is cool outside so I roasted it this afternoon.
We are sharing a large baked potato, eating turkey and having applesauce for our light meal.
So, for the rest of the week the cooking is pretty well done. Hubby will eat soup for lunch tomorrow, probably.

We sometimes buy a roast chicken as they are quite reasonable in price and always beautifully cooked and with seasoning (stuffing). We have several hot meals from it and the rest we have cold for lunches. It lasts almost too long.

I know our time is coming. Then it will be grilling or smoking stuff outdoors. Or using the crockpot.

Can I eat at your house? That's just the sort of easy-to-chew food I should be eating. We are having frozen marinated salmon, brown rice, baked sweet potatoes, and broccoli. Except for the broccoli, that is also easy to chew. I have to give up nuts and crunchy things for a couple more weeks until I finish the root canals and get two of my crowns on.

It will be so good when your dental work is complete. It actually protects your heart to do so as well. Your meal sounds yummy.

We see frozen turkey, both whole and parts in Wal Mart year around. It is a little more costly at some times than others.

@andriaperry So good for you, and cheap as well. Adds lots of flavor and nutrition if you are ill.

It is really simple here. You can get a bag to cook it in in the pan. It gets tender and brown.
