Why do you like to travel?

March 14, 2017 2:35pm CST
It may seem like a silly question at first, but I sometimes have the impression that people have no other reason to travel than to "rest". There's no problem with that, but... Is that it? Traveling is one of the greatest pleasures of my life. I love traveling because I like to know new places, new cultures, new foods and new people... I like to acquire new habits. I think the world is too big to be stopped in just one single place.

I like to travel to my special place because it relaxes me. I love the food and the culture there. I feel at home there.

I so agree with you. Since it is not possible for me to travel due to finances I set up an armchair blog in which I can easily travel through the net, find out about all kinds of places and share with others. My blog is pretty popular as an armchair travel blog. I hope that while I still can I can do some traveling but then again if I had the money I would like to see my homeland the U.S. again.

I agree with you. I love seeing places I've never seen before and even just eating in a new restaurant.

We have enjoyed the travelling we've done. I just wish we'd started sooner.

I can rest at home. I like traveling to see new places and what is like in other areas to live and of course all the cultural attractions like museums etc and National Parks.

I agree with you, and, although I don't have the time/money , I think life is too short! I can't go to exotic places, historical places far aways from home, but, hey! We have discovered wonderful places to do far away, and the feeling is great!

I travel for fun, experience and trying something new. Like that phrase, 'if travelling is free, you'll never see me'. Yup, that really describe me.

I once did a 'thing' on Tripadvisor, said I had visited 63% of the worlds countries. (Not sure where the others might be if not in the world! But that was their wording.) Truth is I love travelling, not just geting somewhere, but the journey. I have blogged a bit about my experiences on Niume (Wild Geese posts). It is the whole of what traveling encompases, make you a wiser, stronger, more tolerant person as well as filling you with a lifetime of memories, which is, at the end of the day, who & what we are; A sum of our experiences and memories.
