I think this is a good idea and wanted to know what others think of the change. It really worked for some things we watched, but others it didn't work at all. I'm talking about the ratings system, as it was hard to give stars. Its easier to give a thumb up or down. Will you use the ratings system more or less now?

@LadyDuck I'll have to go look at the Netflix Page to see how people feel about the change. Netflix had some subscribers try the change and more used it, then had been using the stars. I'm a Netflix Subscriber and this change won't impact whether I watch a television show or movie. I wondered, if anyone on Mylot would change what they view.

@LadyDuck I have bought products with 5 stars and really was disappointed in the product and others with 1 star that had me wondering if the person that wrote the review bought the same product as me.

@Fishmomma I never check the star when I buy a product on Amazon. I have bought excellent products that only had one start and real garbage with 5 stars.

I don't give ratings on Netflix. But I do watch some shows on it.

I think a lot of people don't rate because what one person loves another would prefer to watch something else. Also if I watch something twice, then my opinion might end up changing in either direction.

I wondered about that change. I heard Amy Schumer complaining that right wing conservatives on Netflix were purposefully going through and giving her one star without watching it (her latest special). I figured maybe some people truly didn't like it. But would the thumbs up or down make a difference? I kind of don't see much of one.
My account now (years ago I paid for Netflix, but cut it once they hiked the price) is through my sister and BIL. So I never rate anything. I wonder if they do; I never really noticed.

Netflix had people try it out and more people were rating what they watched with thumb up or down. I certainly did, as it was hard for me when it was a middle of the road. I would just not give a star rating. My daughter prefers the stars, so will be interesting to see whether the change stays around.

I rate movies on Netflix with 5 stars or less.

Netflix had subscribers have a choice to rate on the star system or thumbs up or down. More of the people that were the testers choice to rate with thumbs up or down. I'm not sure when accounts will change to thumbs up or down. I don't know, if people can stay with the stars. I'll have to check my account and see what it is on my account now.
