Helicopter Over My House

No, not really. This morning at around 10, I heard the sounds of a helicopter when I was drinking my mug of tea. It flew over my house. It was so obvious that it was the military. Who else would do that? A few minutes later a second helicopter passed by over our house. It was really loud that I went out to the terrace to see what was going on. Then it was quiet. I didn't know what was happening nearby that I asked my friends in Facebook what is going on in our neck of the woods. I got an answer immediately. There was a fight between the military and the rebels in our nearby mountains, where the rebels are hiding or the NPA ( New People's Army). I hope there were not many people dying. Have you experienced like that before?

We have not exactly the same problem here, but the helicopter of the police often fly over this area near the border to check that no immigrants try to cross the border illegally.

@thelme55 You are so right, Angela allowed too many immigrant to come in. Europe is no more a safe place for women.

That is good @LadyDuck. I wish we have that too in Germany. We already have a lot of immigrants who make us women scared on the streets when it's dark. Well, for me. Germany is no longer a safe place to live. Anyway, election is fast approaching and I can't wait to vote and kick Angela out from her throne.

@LadyDuck yes, no more. Men and women are equal in Germany and then came those immigrants who are disrespectful to women.

@MALUSE I agree with you but nowadays, Germany is not as safe as before when I didn't have to be scared being in the dark going home from work. I usually walk because we live not far from the city but I have to pass through the train station where weird people roam around. Since the happening in Cologne, I go home with a bus during winter time.

That must've been exciting. I do hear the plane fly over my home to the nearest airports from time to time.

@KristenH It's alright. I didn't hear it but it was in the news. I can imagine how the locals felt living in the mountain.

@thelme55 I found it a bit stressful in Dubai. Everyone seemed quite officious, nobody smiled - all a bit scary. I didn't want to put a foot wrong.

@JudyEv gladfully I was and will be only in the transit area in Dubai airport. I don't want to roam around there, scared that I might do something wrong without my knowledge.

often my friend. the choppers come around (the airport is a kilometer away from home) and we know there are some offensive attacks on the rebels' hideouts in nearby communities.

@thelme55 yes my friend. the Sierra madre mountain range is always thought of as the hideaway of the rebels NPA. i heard from our 'kagawad' here that in the remote barrios here in my place, NPA's roam around at dusk and ask money and rice for them. a revolutionary tax is always their reason.

@ridingbet I see. I heard about that also from my batch mates here. Those rebels are indeed hiding in the mountains.

Where we are in the Philippines, we don't hear of any confrontation between the NPA and the military .. But here in Au, we sometimes have police helicopters roving above our neighbourhood .. may looking for unruly people ..

Yes, I think they were @amadeo. A friend of mine who was teaching in one of the schools in the mountains told me that there was indeed a shootings between the rebels and the army.

It was too bad @DianneN. I still remember that day when that happened. We were numbed in Germany watching the tv news. I was trembling watching that awful attack.

Military helicopters also pass over our house every now and then when there are encounters in the south, either to transport reinforcement troops or bring the wounded to the hospital. At other times, military helicopters would encircle the city to monitor when there are important big events or when a very important personality like the President comes.
