Building sand hills on the sea shore - a memory

We as siblings would be taken to the beach and while the adults were busy with whatever we would start building in the sand.
One day my brother and I put up a big hill. We both decided to scoop out a tunnel. Each started doing at either ends. We were quite successful and as we went deeper and deeper our hands touched.We shook hands with glee and slowly withdrew our hands.

We were in seventh heaven, which meant the tunnel was complete.

I still remember that thrill when our hands met deep inside that hillock.

We used to be taken and for that we had to pass a river first but now I have loads of seashores around me but no time to go.

@allknowing Same here , one time I lived so near a beach I could see it from my kitchen window, but I never made the time to go.

Me and my wife with our little kids often go to the beach. The kids love playing, running and catching small crabs and then swim to the beach
Always love watching them. I love to hear their little voices of happiness.

With a bucket and spade building Sand Castles with an empty Moat and we would go with the buckets and fill them with Sea Water and tip them into the Moat.
So then it was a Sand Castle a big one with a Moat.
Had a glorious time too.

I always enjoyed spending time at the beach when I was young and so did my children. Now I enjoy those times with my grandchildren
