The photo above is of Sophie, my brand new 6 week old puppy in 1995, who is about to meet her very first kitty, my sweet Spunky. Spunky was raised by Gracie, a golden retriever, and me so he was curious about this tiny form of dog. He ended up being the center of her world for 12 years.
My sweet Sophie lived with me for 15 years, she is buried in the back yard and a mulberry tree is starting to grow close to where she is.
I wonder if her spirit will intertwine with that tree.
Do you believe our pets have spirits?

Yes. animals are very spiritual. I had a dog TK that traveled to me in spirit (she was still alive) I was staying at my mothers house due to car problems and could not get home. My little dog missed me so much. I was wide awake and I saw her floating right in front of me. I am quite certain she Astral Projected and came to make sure I was okay.
. PS. this dog also read my mind - OFTEN.

@rebelann she was definitely an awesome pooch. PS. they can see spirits too...
My dogs slept in my room.. My roommate actually knows how to Astral project. ( I can't even though he's tried to explain it.) I guess I am not in tune enough with my own body.. Anyway, He was in his room and Astral projected.. and he says his spirit left his room and he came down the hallway of our then apartment.. and when he got to my doorway he says he tried to come in and my dogs laying there beside my bed were both staring at him (his essence) and he says they threw up some kind of barrier and he was unable to move forward into my room.. I loved this story and I have always felt safe from spirits since I have heard this!

I am so glad your dog is close by you and you can visit her anytime you want. I believe each animal has their own personalities. My cat that I have now is named Sophie and she is not like my cat I had before her named Mitzi. Mitzi could climb around buildings and could jump up and jump down but she was afraid of rain and hated going in the carrier. When I first got Sophie she would sleep in the carrier and go in on her own. She is not afraid of water but it is very hard for her to jump. She can jump up and down in the apartment but outside something holds her back.

They certainly have their own personalities and some are so funny. One of our cats is absolutely mad. I am sure he was the runt of the litter. The other one is a demon. She hates everyone!
