Tomorrow

I took tomorrow off. They are finally scheduling hubby's first radiation treatment, and I am going to go with him.
I hated to take the day off, I dislike missing work, but it is for a good reason.
Today, other than going to church, has been a pretty lazy day. The skies have been gray, although the grass all around is turning green.
Looking at the weekly weather forecast, it will still be cool, and wet, at least up until next Thursday.
I need to get a hot shower and let my hair dry before bed. I have been reading and commenting on things and will continue to do so for a while.

I thought you and I discussed it, but it may have been another Lotter. Your dad had prostate cancer while your mom was ill, correct?

@GardenGerty Yes, he had it, and they gave him options, but he ultimately decided to have his removed. They said they could do radiation and he might be able to get all the cancer. However, with his they also said the best chance of getting it all, and not coming back was to remove the prostate.. He did not want to have it removed, he really didn't, but I'm glad he did.
I think you know a good reason why he didn't want it removed. My mom was bad enough then that it didn't matter, nothing was going on there. Luckily, and this may be too much information, when he got remarried, there was a way to resume activities.
The cancer hadn't spread, so he didn't need chemo or radiation.
I hope you guys are okay. That is so much stress for you both.I'll be praying for you.

@AmbiePam So much of treatment protocol is based on where and how serious the cancer is. The urologist or someone had it in their records that Bob's dad had prostate cancer, but he did not. Bob has quite a bit of faith, plans to be one hundred and drive to the biggest fourth of July parade that year. We are doing good. The most recent doctor seemed surprised he was even wanting to have it treated. However, you know Bob is over 70.

Rather than spend on looking for planets wish they did something to banish cancer from the face of the earth

They are learning new things about preventing cancer all the time. I think we need to be looking to expand our horizons. Some of what they are learning is that they do not know as much as they thought they did.

I have always been kind of compulsive about being at work, even if I personally am sick, or exhausted. It is hard for me to take time off .

@GardenGerty I am good with not being there, when I am sick, no point exposing others

This is going to be pretty straightforward, but yes, it was nice to get away together.

It will be okay I spent 2 months there, radiation is not as bad as chemo.

Basically the drive to the cancer center is more time consuming than the treatment, now that they have the right equipment scheduled. What type of cancer was Tony having treated? I have been on the other end and taken people for chemo. My baby sister. Where her cancer was that they radiated it gave her radiation burns.
