Wet End to a Beautiful Day / myLot

Today was a beautiful day in eastern North Carolina. Then the clouds moved in. Then the rain moved in. Now we are under a severe thunderstorm watch. An angry red line is making it's way across the state and is due here sometime later tonight. I rearranged my classroom today. This time is wasn't because of student behavior. When they take the End of Grade Test, students cannot be seated in groups. They must be lined up in neat rows, alphabetically. I explained to the students that they needed to get used to sitting this way, and to being quiet while they worked, so the EOGs wouldn't be such a change of environment for them. How did your Monday go?

We had some angry weather here today. Still pretty ugly outside. I just made dinner and now settling in to read a book while I eat.

So far all we've seen is rain. Bad stuff is supposed to arrive in a couple of hours.

my monday was pretty good. today i'm wiped out. still recovering from surgery. and today i have a migraine and eye issues. so i'm mostly sitting....

That was the way we were seated all the school year round when I was a student. It's sunny here, a beautiful warm April day.

The big push now is for the students to learn in cooperative groups. Yet, at year end, they take the test alone, so all the teamwork and cooperation they learn during the year is for nothing.

That is a lot of rain, indeed. We got quite a bit last evening and night. Sunny and warm today. Storms predicted the next couple days, bringing colder air.

It was cloudy and windy in eastern India around Calcutta. For once I thought the yearly norwester was on the way but nothing came. It was the first day of the new academic year in the school where many of our children go.
