Birthday Celebration

My grandson turned 20 on the 4th and we had his party this afternoon. The forecast said rain by 2, but fortunately it held off and it still hasn't started. So it was a very good afternoon. I got some good pictures of family and friends, and I had my grandson's girlfriend take a picture of me which also included my grandson, pictured.
My daughter made the cake, which was carrot, homemade with cream cheese icing, delicious!
I did have one hiccup today. I bought my grandson a gift card but somehow it disappeared from the bag between the store and home, and after going back and trying to reconcile it, they said after looking at the camera that it was my problem. An expensive problem. So I went home and after calming down, I went back and got another, and that one made it all the way to his hands. So it turned out to be a good day.
My daughter also served pulled pork and potato salad both of which were delicious. This child can cook. When I watched her add all the spices to the sauce I thought it would be really spicy, but it was perfect.
I just got home. So other than a few minutes between the store and home the first time, I have been gone since I went to church this morning.

Sounds like a wonderful day. It is always nice to spend time with family. Sorry about the gift card. That must have been upsetting for you.

Yes, it did turn out fine in the end. To look at me in that picture, I can see how much weight I've lost. I love carrot cake and my daughter makes a delicious homemade cake.

Happy Birthday to your grandson. He is a handsome fella. I hate that Walmart let you eat the loss on the gift card. I am glad you were able to get him another one. The meal sounds delicious!

They didn't get to use it. It was voided out and the money put onto a new card.

Sounds like your day went pretty well. Our Sunday here was a great day as well. We went to church and then our church was handing out flyers for easter next Sunday at the WalMart with a little booth set up outside there, so we went and helped for a while. They were also making Balloon animals so I helped make some while we were there. So it was a nice day.
