Neither Will Work

How weird! I use Bing as my search engine. It is through Microsoft and you gain points each time you use it. I can redeem the points for Amazon gift cards. When I click on the redeem button under the Amazon card I get a notification in red telling me they are having trouble verifying the phone number. I did just have a landline and was always got this same notification each time. I really gets old having to email support and they take days to get back to me and then they take more time to rectify the situation and I finally get the card. A lot of trouble for one measly $5 Amazon Gift Card. Each time I go through this I think I need to close the account and not do it any more. But, I continue to do it for some reason.
So, now that my daughter has a cell phone I put her number in this time. I got the same notification. I tried the number with both the SMS message option and the VoiP one. Same notification as the landline got me.
I think it is their problem. They always tell me, very politely mind you, that I really need to use a cell phone. Well, now I have and am getting the very same problem. I'm waiting to hear from them.
Any ideas?

So, how do think that guy in the red suit picks us out anyway?

Definitely sounds like a problem on their end. Hope it stops being trouble for you.

It really does. I wonder if they do it on purpose.

I know! Everytime I go to redeem I have to work for it like this. Takes me nearly a week just to jump through all these hoops to get a $5 gift card.

@Jessicalynnt ......Not for me. It is this long drawn out thing. I hate it when they have me write a 'Mission' and I start writing and the words they expect increasing. I keep writing but it keeps increasing. I finally give up and go out of it. I would like to cash out but still have about 725 to do.

@celticeagle that stinks! And I can see not entirely being worth it then. For me crowdtap is just a couple of email type windows to get the card

OH dear. I would stick with it if they eventually pay out. It could be a ploy to put people off claiming?

@celticeagle I guess they are trying to make people get fed up with the rigmarole of getting in touch so they don't bother to claim!

Maybe they just want to make it difficult for you to claim the gift certificate

That's what I have been feeling the last couple of times. I don't really like other search engines though.

@just4him ....Yes, many do. I may start using something else.

I wonder if that is it. They don't want many to get the rewards and so they make it as hard as they can.

I haven't gotten enough points again yet to cash out so not sure if I will have issues or not. I don't earn there like I could as I use that one last after getting points at swagbucks, my 4 counting searches at inboxdollars, then try a few at mypoints for points.

I just go on Swagbucks and do a bunch of search until I get paid. I always use Bing for my research and such.

Do you get a lot of telemarketing calls since you gave them your phone number? I don't use Bing just because I don't want to give out my number. I use Swagbucks to search and get an Amazon gift card at least once a month with no problem. They don't care about my phone number, they don't require it.

No, other than scratching your nose and waiting forever for them to fix it in their good time. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I hate it when customer service sucks.

This one sure does. Now they have instructed me to clean out my data history, download history and all out of the browser and try it again with just the Microsoft up on the browser. Did that and am still getting a notification.

I do all my searches thru Swagbucks. That sounds like more trouble than its worth.
