Hi, dear friends. In spite of my wanting to get into bed as soon as my friends left, I did all the work in the kitchen and I´m only waiting to start the dishwacher. I have an electricity meter with 3 timers and it depends on the time of the day how much I´ll get charged for using electricity. Now it is peak time, bur in an hour it will be low and I´ll set the dishwasher to run. Meanwhile I´ll go on knitting. And for the moment, good night. I´m tired

Our power is much cheaper from 9pm until 7am so as a rule I always start the dish-washer after 9pm. I also do a load or two of laundry at night or else very early in the morning.

Glad that you have the dishwasher and you don't have to do them by hand. That meter is a nice way to save on electric.

I don´t like to do any sort of job that means standing. Since my back surgery, my back hurts when I do it.

It has been a long day. I think you need to calm down yourself now.

We only have 2 timers for the electricity, day and night. The "night" is from 6 PM up to 6 AM, it's when I wash my laundry and use the dryer, I was the dishes manually.

@LadyDuck I hope my dishwasher lasts some more years. It is an old one (over 20 years) but the motor is running well. It does have some minor issues though.

This is a good idea as many people save money while using up better the energy we have.

@marguicha My dishwasher broke, it is installed inside the cabinet with the front panel identical to the kitchen. A normal dishwasher is not very expensive, a dishware that can be fit in the cabinet is very expensive and I have no intention to replace it now, because may be I am going to replace the whole kitchen.

We have a system of two time zones in the UK but very few people choose to use it these days.

Why not? It saves energy and money.

@marguicha Because here it DOESN'T actually save most people any money. And it certainly doesn't save energy - it uses the same kW whether you do your laundry in the day or the night.

@boiboing Here it uses the same Kw whenever you use them. But they charge you less each Kw depending on the time of the day. And people use the energy when industries are not all working.

I went to bed later than I should have. But now it is another day and I haven´t made any mistakes yet.
