Its always sad to say goodbye. Switched At Birth has ended with some closure and clearly not quite the way I can hoped to end. You can see they made a lot of episodes for the season and were canceled and had to do a hurry up ending. The show had covered some tough issues over the years including being deaf and wanting to fit in no matter what school you are attending, tagging, school closing, dealing with love and heartache of growing up, jobs, grades, cheating and more. I am glad the show aired, as we don't see a lot of shows with a lot of signing on a network channel. I'm hoping many years in the future the show returns to learn what type of doctor she becomes and to update on everyone.

I do agree that the ending felt rushed. I did really enjoy this series. I think it definitely opened a lot of people's eyes to deaf people and how they are just as capable as the rest of us.

Many years ago I taught American Sign Language for one year. The entire class was able to participate and it was a fun year as a teacher. The school couldn't find the funding, so it was just one program that had a problem getting funded unfortunately. That same year the music program was reduced; however, fund raising helped save the music program.

I haven't seen this show but it sounds like it covered a lot of ground.

It really did and I'll miss seeing this show that families could watch together. I think its harder for me to see shows leave after airing for 5 or more years, then the ones that leave after a year. This one my daughter and I watched together making it harder to see the show end.
