Do you usually tip the waiter/waitress?

April 13, 2017 4:17pm CST
When you go to a restaurant or a bar/pub for example and it's time for you to pay the bill... Do you usually tip the waiter/waitress? I always tip if I like the way that I was treated. I see this attitude as a way to encourage their work.

Yes I always tip but the amount of the tip depends on the service I received.

Well yes, it would be inappropriate not to.

20% tip always. If I have a problem, I complain to the manager.

Yes (unless they were horribly rude, which has never happened to me), i think it's rude not to. Thats how they make most of their money. so, If i can't afford to tip I wont eat there.

In my country actually we don't have this habit to tip the waiter and waitress. But if I travel abroad, be sure I will check whether I should give a tip or not. I don't want to make a mistake because of different cultures

Unless the service was horrible, I will usually tip. The amount though is vary, but I still generally leave a tip if I liked the service.

Giving tips is not part of our culture but I do give tips when I'm satisfied with the service.

O, well, here in Canada tipping is not required but one should do it anyway. I mean if you don't tip, people think you are cheap . . so, better tip unless you are croc-skin. ... I don't tip in fast food restaurants like MadDo, Burger King, and others!

Tipping isn't common in Australia. Everyone gets a basic wage and tipping hasn't really caught on although some people do.

When the Service is Good, I tip good. Why tip decent if the Food is slow to be delivered, cold, wrong food, etc?
