How we eat oats.

This is how we eat oats here:
I put some small pieces of cream bread, which should not be the case because both oats and the bread are sources of carbohydrates. The bowl at the bottom is mine.
My son also has his own version of oats: he adds some powdered chocolate, so it looked like chocolate porridge. His bowl is the one above my bowl.
My sister also made her own: she added a piece of ripe banana, sliced thinly.
That was our breakfast yesterday.
How about you, how do you prepare your oats?

I eat it like your son, with chocolate or " champorado" style or the same procedure but less the chocolate, only milk and a little sugar or honey, sorry but I do not eat it with bread.

that is why my method of eating oats is really weird for me, because both are already energy-giving foods, like 'pancit' and bread, typical Filipino way of eating noodles.

@ridingbet it's very easy for Filipinos to do that, we eat potato, corn, pasta. Noodles with either rice or bread as partner. I cannot eat " mami" or chinese style noodles without "siopao" or dumpling, something seems to be lacking

@louievill and these are good pairs of food, but of the same nutritional value. instant noodles with bread is my type of afternoon snacks sometimes

@ridingbet No, sometimes we have a small bowl of oats with apple and cinnamon for lunch in winter. For breakfast we have toasted bread with jam and coffee and a yogurt.

@LadyDuck i am sure Filipinos here cannot eat oats for lunch, but in your case, do you get satiated with oats for your lunch?

@ridingbet yes indeed. When I am rushing in the morning, I prepare oatmeal before going to work.

and it is indeed nutritious, because it has protein, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates, like a one-dish meal.

@jobelbojel is your oatmeal thick in consistency, or do you add more milk like my son's chocolate oats?

i forgot to indicate in my discussion that i add evaporated milk and a teaspoon of sugar, then the piece of bread. i like eating it while the bread has not yet absorbed the milk.
do you eat oats every morning?

When I used to eat oats would just be with milk and cinnamon and raisins. Now I mostly use it as an ingredient in breads and cookies

no, not weird. if it is weird, then mine too is weird, because we add carbo in a carbo food.

Oats are good for breakfast. For me, whenever I prepare my oats for a meal, I want it with milk.

we use the instant oats here, so with a bowl of boiled water plus 2 scoops of the instant oats, it is ready to eat
