Making it official

Yesterday my brother me had informed me that he's officially tying the knot with my pseudo SIL Karrie on 5/12/17. (Since they've been together for a long period of time and engaged to each other for about five years, I've called her my pseudo-SIL for that reason.) They were supposed to get married last summer and waited until her youngest son headed into college. Due to health problems and things didn't work out with her son going to college, things had changed as he's now looking for a full-time job.
They won't be a wedding announcement in the local paper or a big wedding. They're going to the local courthouse during his day off, and do it with the justice of the peace. I know that 5/12/17 is a symbolic date for them, since last year, they went out of town for a vacation to celebrate being together for ten years. They've been engaged for five years and lived together for nine years.
This would be the second marriage for the both of them. My brother's first marriage ended 15 years ago, after he was together for 2 years with my former SIL. I don't know how long ago Karrie had been divorced, but I know her two sons do spend time with their dad for visits. She's 1 year and 1 month older than my brother and shorter than him, too.
I used to be jealous of my brother way back then. But now I'm fine with it, since I'm happy for him and Karrie, since I know I won't get married or have a family of my own at this rate. I can't wait to officially welcome Karrie and her two sons (ages 18 and 21) as my two step-nephews into my family real soon.

Congrats to them! And you on your new family members. They picked a great day to get married as that is my daughters' birthday! You never now Mr. Right may be out there waiting for you. Never give up hope my friend.

Actually, this post is just shy four days from being a month prior to the other one you wrote about the wedding already taking place. I'm guessing you're calling her your sil and pseudo sil because she's sort of been in the family these past ten years? I had it wrong on both counts.
For those that didn't read this one first you may want to be a bit more specific on why you're calling her that in the other post. Also, this one has a few typos.

True. But either way I look, Courtney, it seems the men I've been interested in the past were taken, married, or older or younger than me. Just not in the cards. Yeah it is. They're nice and friendly, ever time I see them for holidays and other occasions. The same for my newest SIL too.

Well he does work home for a banking company and does a lot of computer work-80 hours a week. I would have to find out if he does, the next time I hear from him, when it gets close to it. But for a simple wedding with the JoP, the lunch hour is better than nothing I guess.
