late last night

Late last night, when all the cows were sleeping and the sun had gone to bed, we went to buy a new car. There is nothing wrong with our car. It's six years old and we've owned it from brand spanking new. When it's been washed it still looks brand spanking new and if you had to guess, you wouldn't say it was six. Husband is very particular about his car. As an aside, it's six years this month since we bought the car. Happy Birthday, Oktie! The car we ended up buying late last night was scuffed on the outside ... black with a hint of scratched silver and speckled with dents. The back seat, although leather, was very dirty, the sort of ingrained dirt that comes from years of child spillages {of every fluid imagineable} and little feet demanding to know, are we there yet? The steering wheel was basic; no fancy gadgets to change the volume on the radio! And yet, we looked, we nodded and we declared that this extremely old lump of metal was our new car. Then we went home. Home was also a bit basic and a bit dirty, but not to worry. We were only going to be there for the night. We went to bed. And when I woke up, none of this had actually happened.

Have you changed your diet? It seems you are in a series of bad dreams.

I have. I've been following WW since last Tuesday and have lost seven pounds. It never occurred to me that a change of diet could be at fault.

@poppylicious I'm starting to get concerned about your nocturnal imaginings; they're getting stranger than mine and I'm getting envious.

It's okay. I'll stop writing about them when I can think of other things to write about!

@Poppylicious Your title made me recall a little ditty that starts "Not last night but the night before, three wee monkeys came to my door".

No. It was just a tatty car, sadly. A classic car would have been a good choice!

fun dream, strangely, the car sounded quite appealling for all its flaws

@Poppylicious It would not be very Fabia, no. Have you noticed how all current Vauxhall car models end in "a"?

I know! I just hope she doesn't read this and break down today as revenge. Husband would not be amused.

I get it was a dream (just in case you thought I'd not read the whole thing) but I am quite pissed off at the moment with the car subject. I bought my car brand new 10 years ago and we were encouraged to buy diesel back then. Now plans seem to be in the offing to get old diesels off the road My car is battered to hell on the outside and worth next to nothing but mechanically it is top notch with only 80k on the clock...it's worth a lot to me as it has been regularly serviced etc. Now my financial circumstances are very different to back then and I can't afford a new car That was a sort of rant

Rant away! We definitely can't afford a new car but hope to put a lot more mileage on the clock with this one {we're already on about 85,000}. We considered a diesel back then. I can't remember why we opted for petrol.
