Epsom salts is also called hydrated magnesium sulfate. Many people have a deficiency of magnesium and sulfates in their bodies. Studies have actually shown that people have increased levels of both of these after bathing in Epsom salts. These two elements are easily absorbed through the skin and can help bolster affects on how the body works. Here are a few of its benefits:
* Improves oxygen use within the body.
* Improves nerve functioning.
* Easing or preventing of migraine headaches.
* Relieves stress.
* Inflammation reduction to relieve muscle cramps and pain.
Could a bath in Epsom salts help people with pain from migraines, fibromyalgia and stress?

I love Epsoms. They really make me feel better if I take a bath in them.
In fact, I may get some while I am out today.

I use them when I have a sore back or sore muscles. It seems to help, but I'm not sure if it's the salts or just the warmth of the water that does it.

@celticeagle Not really, just don't know how I'd go about proving it conclusively.

@BarBaraPrz .....It works for me and when I find something that is helpful I like to share it. I think that these things may not work for everyone but if it does help some then why not give it a try if we are in pain.

Epsom Salts do benefit they really do.
However I would make it a twice a week thing only.
My Dad worked very hard in the Iron Foundry twelve hours a day six days a week and Epsom Salts were his lifeline.
Perhaps they could have changed the composition but I hardly see how they can.
He also had very bad feet through wearing the most awful protection shoes whilst at work and he had to soak his feet in those salts so many times otherwise he would not have been able to walk even.
I am the one who was witness to the benefit of using them but in moderation of course.

They are supposed to help release bad stuff from the Muscles so maybe that is why they say not to do overdo it.
For moving through pain you have to help move it also and that is what I do but he did not have the time or that kind of strength too busy with that ever hard tasking job that I would not even wish on my worst enemy.

My husband swears by that stuff, I don't care for it. I think the container we have dried up to one giant chunk.
